Randle already plays a similar role and maybe better given the current culture of the organization and the fact that Brunson is clearly the alpha. If there a way to add him otherwise, I’d be all for it, but Randle is too high a price. The Knicks are good.

I think Markkanen is a better fit on this team. The Knicks have proven that they play better as a team without Randle because the paint is open and there is more ball movement. I would do it for Randle and 4 1st not 5 or 6. Not to concerned about the pick given we have not had a pick in the last 2 years and we are in a win now mode

I agree that cost is insane. Julius Randle is an all star while Lauri Markannen isn't. They should be giving US draft picks to get Randle. Julius Randle can finish on ally oops, finish on pick n' rolls, shoot some 3's, drive to the rim, post up, get out in transition, give assists, rebound at a high rate & do "wizard spins" in the mid-range area. Lauri Markannen is mainly a 3 point shooter with some finishing ability. Basically he's a better Donte DiVincenzo. That's good, but that's not ALL STAR good which is what Danny Ainge appears to be suggesting. I would offer them Mitchell Robinson and some first rounders. Maybe include Deuce McBride. Otherwise we should hang up the phone because anything more than that would be highway robbery. Honestly, I don't believe we need Lauri Markannen because we've got Mikal Bridges who can get his own shot and defend at a high level. I think the Knicks should go for 3 of these guys instead: Miles Bridges, Kyle Kuzma, Collin Sexton, Caris LeVert, Jalen Green, Jaden Ivey, Kelly Oubre Jr., Andre Drummond, DeAndre Ayton, Anfernee Simons, Tyus Jones or Keldon Johnson instead. The centers should replace Mitchell Robinson & maybe even Jericho Sims. They could also replace Isaiah Hartenstein in case he decides to take his talents somewhere else. We don't need to trade Randle. The Knicks were taking the league by storm WITH Randle in the regular season this year.
