I absolutely agree. I think he can be that type of traditional center but it’s Thibs that wouldn’t want to make him more of a liability when it comes to shooting free throws. Thibs wants his bigs to rebound and protect the paint.

Thank you! The Knicks don’t really have the players that can get Duran, outside of the starters, which the Knicks would be crazy to trade. Believe it or not,the Pistons are trying to win some games before losing the few fans they have left. Everything I read here in the Detroit area is that the only way the trade Duran is if they can trade him with others for an unhappy star. From what I’ve seen on Knicks websites, the fans think Detroit will give him to you for McBride and a backup big and maybe some 2nds. Look at the Pistons roster, they don’t need a shooting guards or a backup center. And they have extra 2nds already. So sorry Knicks fans, you’re not getting Duran. But, I will be rooting for you guys over the Celtics this season.

Y. Yes, the Knicks should absolutely trade for a center. Why don't they try to go after Wendell Carter? He can shoot 3's, defend, give assists and finish at the rim on ally oops & pick n' rolls. I know they have maybe 2 first round draft picks left...but it would be worth it. Last season in the playoffs Mitch was gone which removed the team's rim protection & shot blocking against most centers & drives to the rim. We can't wait for that to happen again this year. Wendell Carter is also young as well.

i say go in with what you got…you can play Randle on occasion at the 5..sign Morris who can play the 4 with Randle at the 5 on OCCASION and who can also give Randle a REST when Randle plays the 4 we don’t need anymore guards..Morris has plenty of experience he knows how to post up a player and he played for NY 5 yrs ago and lit up the Garden.

Detroit IS NOT trading Duran unless he is packaged with others for a star. Remember it was the previous Pistons front office that said they would consider trading Duran, the new front office has said they want the kids to play together, and will not trade Duran this year. They also wouldn’t have a starting quality center if they traded him. So why would they?

Valanciunas is the way to go. He replaces the offensive versatility that Hartenstein gave us. Not an great defender by any means but is a strong enough rebounder and a big enough presence that he’ll be impactful with the defenders he has around him. Him being on the Wizards is another bonus for us as they likely won’t care what players they receive and should be happy with a pick swap and a couple of 2nds.

Y. Jonas Valanciunas. Still decent defensive player, can put the ball in the hoop, and can also shoot free throws, which is what made iHart so valuable. All these other guys are horrible at the free throw line. In addition we can give them back their 2025 1st round protected pick, Jericho Sims and another player or players.
