I don't agree with this argument that the Knicks bench needs so much help. Like, what's the basis for this? The Knicks bench is positive this year, and has a net rating in the top 10 in the whole league, which is pretty impressive considering how few minutes they get... so they have to jump in on limited game time and limited minutes, and they've done well. And this is without Robinson, and often without McBride, so arguably their two best bench players. I would say that the bigger question is why doesn't the bench play more minutes? Given their solid performance, and the fact that it's early in the season, why doesn't the bench get more run? Why are the Knicks dead last in nba by a mile in bench minutes per game?

I can't see how this trade would matter in Knicks high hopes. Thibs has consistently shown that he'll play 6 or 7 guys throughout the reg season and playoffs, maybe an 8th getting a few minutes, and that's it. Until the coach changes, none of these trades make any difference. Or unless I suppose players like OG, Bridges, Towns get hurt...

Pass … til they determine whether Mitchell Robinson is healthy enough to play this season . if he is healthy , trading Sims would make sense makes sense … If the Knicks want to trade Robinson after determining that he is healthy , it should be for another Center … Cam Whitmore might be a wonderful addition … but losing Dadiet or Kolek in that trade would not make me happy I’d rather see both them in the Knicks 10 man rotation til the end of the year to develop them effectively !

I think Jericho Sims is drawing interest from Houston because he can defend, rebound, block shots, finish on ally oops and finish on pick n' rolls. The issue is that Thibs doesn't have players get the ball to him often enough. Houston has a point guard who would, I think. Regardless...I think the Knicks should convince Thibs to expand the bench rotation first. Then they should get Cam Whitmore. Next, they should go out and get maybe 2 of these guys if possible: Kyle Kuzma, DeAndre Ayton, Nic Claxton, Collin Sexton, Malik Monk, Jakob Poeltl, Max Strus (he appears to be coming off the bench for Cleveland but was knocking down a lot of shots last season), Malik Beasley, Wendell Carter and Andre Drummond. They can try to get this done by doing a 3 or 4 team trade.
