Donnie unpacking that telescopic is mic drop of a moment. You know shit's gonna go down.
@wipplewopple18763 жыл бұрын
One thing I'd like to point out is that the kevlar-type soft armor that Donnie is wearing is often not stab proof. It may be cut proof, and may stop a stab at an odd angle, but they're not designed to stop blade penetration. Body hits shouldn't be too much of an issue. "Bullet Proof" is a misnomer, because vests are bullet resistant up to a certain amount of force. If it had been a hard-armor ballistic vest, with front, back, and side plates, then I could see having to work around it.
@logan6073 жыл бұрын
This one had plates plus, I don't want to waste time figuring if I can or can't penetrate; if I see a non-covered area, I'll go for that first and move on my merry way.

I remember how excited I was for this movie, in part because it reminded me so much of Donnie Yen's stuff from years ago, like SPL and Flashpoint, with very hard hitting, fast paced action. It's an extremely entertaining fight scene. I highly recommend anyone reading this go to watch Raging Fire now. R.I.P. Benny Chan.
@zuriyel53683 жыл бұрын
I agree, but that may just be due to everything both characters had to go through in the movie up until that point, resulting in them not being at their best psychologically, aside from the Superman punch. Granted that's not always the case in movies/shows. Could also be that some details getting overlooked sometimes 'cos of how much time they spend on fight scenes in Hong Kong. In Hollywood, they spend maybe a day or half a day on their fight scenes. In the final fight in Ip Man 4, I think they spent like a week on that scene. I believe Scott Adkins has talked about how he was hurting from soreness due to spending the entire day, each of those days on getting the fight scenes right. So they probably have a lot of takes, with not all of them matching perfectly. Benny Chan not being alive to do the editing himself could also have been a factor.

As Nicholas has proudly said: Well this, is Hong Kong action! 😎 I understand there can be so many bugs to be found out in fighting action scenes, for the main purpose of doing fighting techniques in a movie is to make the movements look cool and wonderful, rather than practical. That’s why we see their fights always somehow lack of practical logic, but always looking cool. Btw I loved your break down video, it’s my first time watching your channel, very practical stuff👍🏻

Chad explaining something: Logan's expression is like, "Alright. I am going to add this into my arsenal. Cool!!" Logan explaining something: Chad's expression is like, "I am gonna run, man. This dude is just crazy. Get the hell out of here."

Question, can Logan do a video with a katana? Also I'd like to see how he'd approach a ten slash combo with said katana. ❤ you guys and scenic fights!

Katana isn't Logan's specialty but he did discuss it in our Mortal Kombat breakdown: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f5PQhp6qia5leKc

@@ScenicFights I think the Rurouni Kenshin Dojo fight scene would be a great breakdown for both Chad and Logan. It's got Japanese Jiu Jitsu and Kenjutsu (w/ a shinai) involved ☺️ or the final fight scene alternating w/ Kenshin and Sanosuke's duel.

Another option for the pipe choke would be to tuck the pipe end to the crook of your arm and either just yank back or, like a regular rear naked, put the palm on the back of the head. The former was how cops used to be trained to choke suspects with a night stick, famously portrayed on film when Radio Raheem was killed in Do the Right Thing. The baton is, essentially, the choking arm....As I'm sure Chad can tell you, or anyone that's been choked improperly, if someone uses the blade of their choking wrist, the larynx can get crushed easily. Even worse with a metal object.
