What a genius idea for the "sheath". I kept wondering what the point of the channel on the blade was for, then the same with the ball bearings. I just figured it was for show.

dude you need precision ground bits for the drilling you’re doing, probably carbide. the chips you’re making and the chatter are a sign. excellent knife making skills though! interesting design!
