Hey DCA, I typically do all my utube watching at night, before I go to sleep, wearing earbuds so that I do not disturb the wife. I use earbuds WITH cords as I've found the cordless variety are easily lost. Anyhow, I cannot count the number of times I've had to watch the second half of your videos the next morning. It's that calm tone and smooth melodiuos voice that puts me right out. You are like the David Attenborough of knives. Can you suggest a bedside knife that would be suitable for safely cutting headphone cords that have become entangled around one's neck? Must be one hand openable. Also, have you ever considered narrating children's audio books? I definitely would of bought those a few years ago, when the kids were younger. Love your channel.

Thanks, as always, Mr. Andersen and Thomas. I confess that I struggle with the 940, partly because I think "ungainly" is a good description for its aesthetics. More than that though, I like a slicer, and the 940 ain't that. Of the knives presented in this set of comparisons, I find the Iridium to be the most appealing in form and function - purty, elegant, tough enough, AND slicey. I'd honestly pick it over the 940.

If someone's looking for an EDC bali i'd definitely recommend the Böker Plus Faction designed by Poltergeist Works. Great quality, materials, edge geometry... The design is geared more towards utility than flipping, one of the reasons i chose it.

FAQ request: knives with no hotspots, aside from the cutting edge, for fidgeters. If a knife has a sharp edge on the handle, that ruins it for me. Many knives also have sharp edges on the back of the blade. It is often hard to find out whether this will be so without buying the knife. Can you help us fidgeters find some silky smooth folders?

I was about to mention that as well. I can only assume that they were not mentioned because there were none on the site. Minus the D2 blade, I love my small (3" blade) model. not a great flipper, but the size more than makes up for that as an edc option.

I've never really messed around with the Butterfly/Bali style of knives because they just aren't common for a country boy to carry in the woods and fields on the farm. Is it odd that I'm temped to try to do a custom butterfly knife using the blade of a Buck 110 and handles of skeletonized brass with ebony inlays? I'm thinking washers would be more fitting for the M-Buck 110Bali?

The Spyderco Smallfly, while well made and a capable EDC knife, is not a good choice for many Balisong techniques. This is due to the shorter handle length and bulbous ends to the handles. Some basic techniques are possible, but so many more would cause the tip to be too close to the palm and fingers causing injury. EDC yes, flipping no. I EDC a Boker Plus small model just slightly larger, and a clip. Check that one out if you want an EDC with a novelty factor for a Balisong.

Fun fact: the day before this video dropped, I let a work colleague use my aforementioned OKnife Drever to perform some cutting tasks whilst repairing a roof on a 3 story building. Said work colleague accidentally dropped the aforementioned Drever off of that roof to the concrete below. Much to my surprise, aside from maring the cutting edge in a few spots, the knife was unharmed. With a little TLC I rehabbed the cutting edge back to its former glory. My butter fingered coworker is no longer allowed to use ANY of my knives. Lol

Question Hey DCA, I just received a Knife Center exclusive CJRB Feldspar. It's beautiful, fidgety, and I've already put the D2 steel to good use in farm chores. My concern is about the lock. I can see the liner doesn't fully engage with the blade. The Feldspar is replacing a very old Kershaw Blur. The Blur's liner lock goes about halfway across the blade to lock up. My question is, when it comes to liner and frame locks, how far do they have to engage to be safe?

Question: I am currently searching for a pocket knife with quite specific requirements for just everyday tasks. It can't have a one-handed opening mechanism and a double-bladed blade since those are prohibited where I live. There is no restriction for the blade length but I would like it to fit it inside the pocket. I also would like it to have pattern welded steel just for the looks. For the grip I maybe thought about stag or a darker wood. It's not important I just want it to be more on the gentleman's side. Is there any knife that fulfills those characteristics?

Just my thoughts. D2 rusts too easily. Sweden gets a lot of snow (ie. water) and D2 would just be too hard to maintain. You might argue - what about the rest of the world - but that's probably a Fallkniven business decision. Another thing, being in Sweden they have access to some of the world's best steel manufacturers. Why use a generic tool steel (ie. D2) when you can get your hands on some really good performing alloy steels. Have a great day.
