@@Marquanis It’s been discovered so far this is an isolated SONY Blu Ray player playback issues all 3 reports are only on older Sony Blu Ray players ONLY, all others reported on newer Panasonic & some other brand Players don’t have any playback issues on that single Team Knight Ruder disc in the set! Here’s a link to one of the recommended Blu Ray players that has been reported by several people as having zero playback issues on that disc: amzn.to/3YSMG2g Also a trick that sometimes works for playback issues on some older Blu ray players & discs is to eject the disc unplug the Blu Ray player then turn back on & put the disc back in & immediately the very second it starts reading the disc after the tray closes start pressing the disc menu button or play buttons on your remote repeatedly numerous times fast & it will usually override any software issues your player might be having & load the disc! You can try just the disc menu button first then try the play button after that if you have try try it again but that usually gets past playback issues on discs for my older Blu ray players! Hope this helps!

Ah, I missed the boat on this amazing Turbine edition. 😔 I got back into physical media in a big way about a year ago. But now it looks like the Turbine set is long gone. That said, James' review here is really helpful and thorough. And at least there's still the Millcreek set which appears to be a big step up from the DVDs. Finally, I really appreciate that James does reviews of shows that appear on Bluray. I'm pretty big into TV series along with movies, and no other YT channel gives TV series the attention that he does. Thank you, sir!

Our set came today! And being it was on Valentine's Day that made it perfect! Ours is 913 out of 3939. My wife and I love it! We only watched the pilot episode so far Knight of The Phoenix and I was very blown away over the sound and picture compared to my old Mill Creek set. I'm glad I bought this! BTW the box was heavy so I have a new respect for what you must go through with your nerve damage. Hi. I have this box set myself and can't wait to watch them all UNCUT. As a UK native, I also have the Fabulous Films blu-ray release and noticed that there are DEFINITE edits, particularly in the feature-length episodes. Also, the difference in picture and sound quality is going to be brilliant. Team Knight Rider was shown here in the UK but I never got round to watching it so having the complete series is brilliant.

My wife and I are up to season 3 now and just finished watching Knight of the Drones. I must say that was a real treat to watch because that one is a good example of how much content was edited out of the Mill Creek version and to finally see that one uncut is a joy! I knew of course it would be different because Mill Creek had used the 2 part syndicated episodes instead of the original 2 hour version, but even I was blown away by the Turbine release because it's been a long time since I've seen this episode uncut. There were even some scenes, even though they were minor, that I had forgotten were deleted. This was definitely worth the money I paid to get this rare Knight Rider set!

Fantastic video, just what I've been after with detailed comparison on Audio/Visual differences to the Mill Creek/Fabulous Films set. Pleasantly surprised to hear such differences with the Audio quality, I know the Turbine set is DTS-HD MA as you rightly said but in terms of levels and fluctuations, that's more than just compression differences to the Mill Creek set. Equally so with the video to hear more dirt/specks have been cleaned up on the Turbine set, you know it's big difference when even the screen shots show differences in colours and contrast. Loving your presentation style and passion that shows through as well, keep up the great work :)

The season 3 premiere has had its original credits reconstructed to almost how it was when it premiered in 1984. The intro has not been since on TV since then and none of the DVD and Blu-ray releases.

This was an amazing & very informative review...I definitely had to get this new Turbine set! The entire series uncut/unedited with original music is enough for me right there! I hate things edited...I really wish the same thing could happen for Miami Vice! But, the quality of the Blu-ray restoration is SUPERB! I’ve never had anything this good, before!

@@williammitchell4417 Cool! KR for me would be amazing, as I grew up watching it as it originally aired...same with Miami Vice! However, I’m grateful to have the Turbine Blu-ray set of KR, that finally has true uncut/unedited episodes! But, there’s something “pure” about original VHS/analog copies of things...they’re not only uncut/unedited, but “unaltered” as well! As awesome as older things can look remastered/restored in HD, they technically are still altered from the original broadcast & how they originally looked. Somehow around 10-12 years ago I came into contact with another MV (Miami Vice) fan, that had taped every episode from its original NBC airing-and still had the original commercial-bumpers (although the commercials themselves are cut out) included, if you remember or know what those were! Most shows back then used the same commercial-bumper during commercial breaks, but MV created multiple different ones...and they were so awesome! Anyway, this fan had their tapes transferred to DVDs to preserve the episodes, and I was able to get them to make me a set, too. So, now with Turbine’s KR Blu-ray set, and my special MV DVD set, I have two of my favorite shows ever growing up, complete & unedited! :-)

18:56 - Have you made any quality comparisons with the Knight Rider boxset released on BluRay by Fabulous in 2016? - It's a 20 disc set released to the European market, that includes a number of bonus features like the audio commentary with the Hoff and Glen Larson for the pilot episode; additional features include "Knight Moves", "Knight Sounds", "Knight Rider Under the Hood", "Photo Gallery" and "Blueprints Gallery". I can confirm that the contemporary music tracks used in the episodes remasterd by Fabulous are not by the original artists. What I am unable to confirm at this time (short of counting every minute of all 90 episodes!) is whether or not there has been any minutes cut from any of the episodes however, if it really is the case that there are boxset releases that contain episodes that have had around 8 minutes slashed (as is apparently the case with the Mill Creek release) then I'd be inclined to say that this is not the case with the Fabulous release; I've lapped the set twice and would surely have picked up on culls that agressive.

That show would never most likely happen at Turbine because the rights to that show are owned by Warner Brothers & they might have plans themselves to release it on Blu Ray because WB does not license out their TV titles very often! Turbine also works with Universal a lot of the time! Do you have a Universal TV series you hope to see get a remastered Blu Ray release?

I'm a die-hard Knight Rider fan and own the originally released DVD sets by Universal. Originally there was of course missing music but also missing sound effects in some episodes. They later corrected this with re-releases and then ultimately a beautiful box set with a light up scanner which I also bought. But man after this review and especially knowing how limited these are, you convinced me to buy this! I have a feeling I would regret it later missing out on this opportunity. Great review! Surprised we can't get this level of quality in the USA considering it is an American show to begin with.

@@InSearchofPhysicalMedia I've always preferred the pilot (aka: "Knight of the Phoenix"), "Goliath", "Goliath Returns", "Mouth of the Snake", "Knight of the Drones" and "Knight of the Juggernaut" in their original uncut TV film formats instead of the syndicated 2-part edits. For example, the 2-part edit of "Drones" is missing the scene introducing KITT's new dash. Oh and speaking of which, does this new release show "Drones" with its original intro (avoiding the reveal of the new dash) finally restored or is it still the standard Season 3 version?

Just found your video. Really nice review. In addition to KR 2000, KR 2010 and TKR, they originally intended to add the reboot series from 2008 to the box, too. Although they said, that those discs were already produced, they had to be skipped short before the release because of some right issues. Continue your good work! Best regards from Germany

What an incredible release! Everything about this looks so good. The picture quality looks distinctly better than the Mill Creek box set, especially in terms of contrast, blacks, noise, sharpness, etc. Also, the Mill Creek picture quality was a little dull, and wasn't saturated enough. This new release is a lot more saturated, though if I'm being critical, it's a little TOO saturated, to the point of looking unnatural and garish (as does the box cover). I think the ideal saturation would be somewhere between the two box sets.

I already have the mill Creek release and while these imports always sound great, it’s a matter of money priorities for me and between the $200 for the release and the shipping costs for me on this one not worth the upgrade but I’m sure others it may be.

I remember watching reruns of Knight Rider here in the UK in 1994/1995 on ITV and again on Channel 5 in 1997/1998 and the season 3 intro at el mirage was a very very vibrant purple colour not the dark moody ones that seems to be common and is the case on this set, also there is a version f the pilot Knight of the Phoenix which is also extremely bright in colour and vibrant in its full 91 minutes, instead of a more darker in colour version

Thanks for the effort. You laid out the differences in a very detailed way. It really does seem like this Anniversary Edition is really improved in all aspects. It would be the one I should get, but $224 (at least) vs $28 for the Mill Creek (currently) is a hard pill to swallow.

Well I get paid on Feb. 3rd so I am planning to get this! My wife also loves the show so this will also count as a Valentines present for her! LOL Since it's uncut I'm assuming that Season 3 episode Knight Of The Drones is the original 2 hour premiere and NOT the edited 2 part episode that Mill Creek put out. That was the only thing I hated about my Mill Creek set. Question: Since Turbine (which is a fitting name for a company that is putting out Knight Rider) ships world wide I am assuming it will let you pay in US Dollars, right? I wish it was on Amazon because I am more comfortable with them but I'll take a chance buying through Turbine. I basically like everything about this set! 👍Yes, as I explained in this video every single episode is UNCUT in the original format including the 2 hour episodes! So there are no scenes or dialog missing at all from this limited edition Blu Ray set & that a HUGE deal for why this Knight Rider set is soo incredible & all the original music is restored for the first time too! Another thing I was sharing is that Mill Creeks Knight Rider Blu Ray set had deleted & missing 1-8 minutes worth of footage & dialog from tons of episodes & most of the music had been changed too! So having EVERYTHING restored & completely UNCUT with original music is so amazing! 🤩 When you were watching this video we’re you blown away by the size of this massive set?

I have the Japanese 26 disc set but want this one too as both reunion movies are on blu …. But the big thing about the German set is that the SOURCE MUSIC & background songs have finally been given license to appear as they were in the televised episodes . All other sets do not have this. Confirmed at KNIGHT RIDER HISTORIANS One thing missing in the Turbine set is that the original TV promo for Goliath is missing . I mean I could at least understand it if it was at least 4000 because most limited edition items end on an even number, but 3939 seems like an odd number to end on. This is the most exciting Knight Rider thing to happen since they shockingly made a Lego Dimensions set. But seriously, the video upgrade along with the uncut music is the biggest selling point. I didn't realize there was that much of a difference with the music, as I thought the use of cover/sound alike tracks cleared them of rights issues in the past.

@@maryjane9221 Sony players have always been notoriously buggy & finicky & I have changed all of my Sony player out to Panasonics & I never recommend any of Sony 4K or Blu Ray players anymore, because of issues just like this: it’s been discovered Sony players have specific playback issues with just one of the discs in this set TKR disc only! So if you use a Sony player that is the only disc you won’t be able to watch because of Sony software it won’t by pass the soft lock whereas all Panasonic players play the TKR disc perfectly with no issues whatsoever! 🧐So the only way to bypass this issue is to buy a better Blu Ray player that’s NOT SONY preferably a Panasonic, here’s a link to one of the players I personally use & have tested & reviewed here on my KZbin Channel: ➡️ amzn.to/37wusuq Hope all of this helps you out!

A trick that sometimes works for playback issues on some older Blu ray players & discs is to eject the disc unplug the Blu Ray player then turn back on & put the disc back in & the very second it starts reading the disc after the tray closes start pressing the disc menu button or play buttons on your remote numerous times fast & it will usually override any software issues your player might be having & load the disc! You can try just the disc menu button first then try the play button after that if you have try try it again but that usually gets past playback issues on discs for my older Blu ray players! Hope this helps!

But as far as their limited edition Blu Ray TV series sets go they haven’t released any of these so far again later on! Also I explained about the masters used for this Knight Rider set in this video too, just because it’s a previous scan Universal did does not mean it’s the same image or sound quality as previous Blu Rays! For more details on all of this I talk about this subject a lot more in the analysis & testing data in the video!
