Please make more of these, maybe even whole series like you have [technique] from everywhere. It's very important for me to understand technique to be able to do it, and you are doing excellent job at helping me understand!

thanks for the thorough explanation. It’s really cool when you explain why this move makes pain.

Hi, I'm a 14 year old Italian boy and I started bjj for a while, but watching your videos I learned a lot and I'm still learning, you have become my "second coach" and I hope to become like you one day, if you do you can put i in the subtitle settings in Italian because many times I struggle to understand English, in any case thank you and keep it up because you are truly amazing. Dude, your timing is perfect! I am preparing for no gi compaticion and plan is to do this submission. Thank you for specifics, you're awesome.

i like how you explain a bit about the mechanics. I've haven't even started bjj yet but recently became interested in it and watching vids etc, but most of the time i really can't work out what exactly is going on and what specifically is causing the pain! for example an arm bar often just looks like your straightening someones arm haha. (in fact me and my brother were messing around wrestling and i was actually able to put him in an arm bar but it didn't make him tap and i wasn't surprised! Guess i was doing something wrong. Had his thumb pointed up and his wrist on my chest etc) If I understood exactly why each move 'worked' i think i'd learn better so thanks for adding in some info in that regard

Great explanation, as usual. Really appreciated the info on mechanics and that last detail about a common error re: hand positions.

I haven't trained in a while but when I was I didn't always have to put my shoulder to the ground to get the submission. I noticed that when I had the ankle lock, by holding my elbow tight to my body and pulling my elbow toward my back I significantly increased leverage on the ankle. Sometimes I would get the submission by just doing that, or if additional pressure was needed just add a slight bridge. I'm not sure if I'm explaining it right so let me know if this sounds like something you guys have done or try it for yourself.

lots of options for how to hold the foot: figure four, guillotine, gripping your lapel, and hand on knee. Do you find that the way you hold the foot changes in gi versus no gi?
@KnightJiuJitsu4 жыл бұрын
I like the guillotine grip most the time personally. The only things that change it for me is if he is hand fighting to defend it and also that I may use my lapel to grip if it’s gi. 👍

What’s your opinion on grabbing a collar grip with the locking hand mikey musumesci style?
@KnightJiuJitsu4 жыл бұрын
I’m a big fan of it. It’s the strongest way to do it in the gi. I only showed this way to show it’s applicability for both gi and no gi.

Gotta switch the leg entanglement and get ahead of the roll. It can get complex.

@@KnightJiuJitsu ahh ok, I usually just let go when they roll because I don't want to be put in a compromising position. Thanks! (White belt btw)
