I just had a peace officer who works at the hospital sign up. He was concerned about a rash of stabbings at work. So I lent him both your blade Grappler series' and he said he was going to buy your other videos too! You're doing God's work, Eli.

I actually train this all the time I’m a deputy so I always consider someone pulling a knife on the ground I’ve boiled it down to a few principles 1)keep control of the weapon/wrist control 2) maintain a dominant position/get to a dominant position 3)do damage whenever possible 4) we NEVER EVER forget rule number 1 Great stuff Mr.Knight!

Sounds like some excellent principles to consider for sure! Thank you for training this kind of subject matter. I wish all LEOs would for sure.

Knight Jiu-Jitsu thank you very much sir! Your content really helps out, I train at a greco Roman gym but I did a little jiu jitsu in the past, but I wish we all would train it would mean less people would get hurt or die on both sides.

grappling in street fights is already scary enough but when someone pulls a knife I'm glad I'm also proficient in the 100m sprint

The "Nike Defense" is my go-to option!

The "crucifix" position (controlling both arms like that), should really be more valued. I guess it's not in BJJ (maybe there aren't easy submissions from the position), but it's an excellent pin that limits mobility a lot, and one can't really use the legs or hips to bridge or sweep and escape, and for the controlling person, they can often have one hand free to ground and pound, get handcuffs, etc.

Hey Eli, always excited when I see you've released a new video! Have you made or considered making a video series on Jiu-Jitsu-based gun retention for the legally armed CCW holder's? In my mind, it would take a few cues from the Gracie's GST for LEO's. As a legally-armed citizen, I worry about an encounter that does NOT require the drawing of my weapon yet necessitates the use of Jiu-Jitsu control skills while NOT introducing a weapon into a ground fight. As a Gracie student (Torrance, CA), I've inquired about such a program on our school's forum but they're not considering it at this time. I'm sure there are Jiu-Jitsu schools/professors out there that have addressed this concern, however, to be honest, I'm selective to whom I turn to for such life and death instruction. Needless to say, I trust your wisdom and approach. Thanks!

This is such a great and important topic. I do work in courses for weapon retention in and out of holster for LEOs, and weapon defense for LE and civilians. The CCW weapon retention concept is a great one, but not one that I have put enough work into to feel comfortable teaching as a course. I will dedicate more time to that in the near future though for sure, as there are some very similar but different considerations for civilians and law enforcement.

Please make a video on who these Budo Brothers are that you keep mentioning. Please include your standard suite of advise on what to do if you realize you are in the presence of a Budo Brother very early, late, and then a hail mary escape from a Budo Brother. Thank you!

This is why I carry a knife and gun everyday. Jiu jitsu is an all else fails scenario. If someone closes space fast then you can't draw a weapon so grappling comes into play. I prefer to run myself before an encounter ✊🔫🇺🇸

Absolutely agree that unarmed defense should be the very last resort.

Yep. I carry two knives and pistol. When I do a lot of walking, I carry pepper spray in my hand with my thumb on the "button". I live in Brazil. Jiu Jitsu helps for sure, but many times you get attacked by two guys for robbery. 4-5 people have been stabbed and killed near my house over the past year or two and I live in a very nice area on the beach. I've been lucky so far. These videos help. This is my favorite Jiu Jitsu channel for lesson learning outside a gym.

@@freedomgunsandliberty It has a pretty powerful stream. I always spray them once in awhile to make sure they are working. Because the attackers are always very close, the idea is to put it right in their face -- spray right up their nose if possible. I sprayed some robbers in the USA once and it took out the half the street. It was summer and windows were open. Everyone got it. Not bad, but teary eyed. LOL. The robbers... man, I don't even know how they survived. I got them in their faces in their car. They rolled up the windows to stop me from spraying them as they drove away. They locked the fumes in.

25 is a great age to start. Not too soon and not too late. The right training facility makes a huge difference. Be safe and find somewhere you will be educated but also have fun and grow. I’m happy to help however I can.

If you are seriously concered about getting stabbed on the STREETZ, you should order some kind of body armor, like stabproof vest or chainmail and a weapon, those are infinite times more reliable than learning juijitsu moves from the internet. If you think wearing armor and being armed all the time dosen't worth it, you are not seriously concered at all. Side note: the guys are cool about this, and they are not trying to sell you lies. I just say it isn't the most effective thing to do, and you should add this stuff to your defense, but it shouldn't be your gameplan.
