Where else were they going to go with it? The SPM was an abomination, no one liked RC (I did) and ratings were stupidly low and they’d done pretty much everything imaginable they could do. KITT was blown up, smashed, dismantled, melted, what else could they do? I love the show but having when I binge watched it, and I was a third of the way through season 4, the end was definitely near

@@0megacron Yes, he did say "they dent". I also thought it was quite funny how Michael said to the car thief lady "there might be some internal damage" as they looked at KITT's indestructible bumper. Bit hard to believe because there'd have to be some external damage to cause internal damage as well. However, he had to trap her and we as the viewers had to enjoy a good car chase!

@@pHD77 Or bad forward thinking and then bad follow up. Everyone in the upgrading of the car worked in the lab that invented and then insatlled all of K.I.T.T.'s upgrades. They never once thought that they would have to protect the interior that much becasue it would never had entered their minds to have ever been in that particular situation since they work in climate controlled germ free spotless labs in starched pristine white lab coats and write on paper on clipboards. I know it is a stereo-type, but it works here.

The show had almost no continuity between different episodes. KITT could be extremely clever and even have a scene slightly suggesting he learns feelings, and in the very next episode, become a complete idiot. In one claim he has no emotions, and in another be scared of things, eg panic about flying. Depending on who wrote the script and directed the show. Every episode had different creators and no rules had been set what KITT is and what isn't.
