I said this at the time and it's the same with Velma. They **always** announce a second season right at the height of the backlash in an attempt to defend the show. Then a year or two later, they quietly cancel the show. The backlash works but they don't want to set the precedent that fans got She-Hulk cancelled or that fans got Velma cancelled. They don't want to give this group a "win", but the feedback always matters.

No, shows get second seasons greenlit so production can start for the next season or two in case the show’s popular. That’s why so many shows end after 2 seasons historically.

A thing that people keep forgetting when comparing SheHulk with House of the Dragon and other cheaper shows... SheHulk episodes are under 30 minutes long, while House of the Dragon 50+ minutes. So add that increased cost per episode, and DOUBLE it!

They actually did have a female standing with that body type on the show they just never used her in any of the shots, but she was there. I think it’s obvious to anybody who thinks about it for more than a minute that Disney Marvel and Lucasfilm I’ve been engaging in crazy amounts of money, laundering, and just straight up cooking the books. How can the most expensive show in the world looks so bad? How can the most expensive show or movie have the worst choreography? How can the most expensive show or movie have the most inexperienced writing and directing? Something don’t smell, right.

I don't think "hate watching" is actually a thing unless you're a KZbinr or other active person on social media and there just aren't enough of those people to sustain a show. Most people don't want to spend their precious time watching something they hate. Disney can use online engagement metrics from companies like Parrot Analytics to try and justify a show's existence for a while, but eventually someone has to be the grownup and cancel it.

Didn't they even have a model who was the base for the She-Hulk form? I remember seeing pictures mentioning that with her standing beside the main actress. I think she was easily two or three heads taller. They could have even just painted that woman green and use her to play She-Hulk. Maybe even throw some fourth wall break jokes about how she looks different

3:10 In the comics She-Hulk and Jennifer are only separated by less than 12in in height so if they were to get an actress around 5'6 and a female bodybuilder or wrestler around 6'0 it would of worked better, the writing would still be 💩, but at least we wouldn't have bad CGI.

She-Hulk was a very popular comic book character. It could have been such an easy money maker, but they could not just respect the fans and the character, they had to change her story and push their false agendas. They were basically spitting in the faces of the fans with every episode and yet are shocked it failed. I too am flabbergasted that Velma got a season 2. It is awful but it did not cost as much so they can keep cranking that crap out.

Totally agree less budget would bring out the best in creators e.g. Godzilla Minus one had a budget of less then $15m & has (of today) made $96.4m. That's over x10 the budget of this film, take off 50% off for the cinema's the movie has made over 500% profit on scraps. Side note, Velma was always getting a season 2 (because you order animation in bulk because it takes so long to make) so season 2 was always going to happen regardless of season 1 performances.

Don't forget, most CGI creators don't like working with Disney/Marvel because they weren't given adequate time to do things, rushed workers = unfinished/bad work. HotD likely gave their artists more time to actually finish the effects, and it shows.

The stupidest thing about them wasting all that money on She-Hulk was that they *did* have a live stand-in model for She-Hulk. But they only used her for reference and scanned her body for the CG. My mind is still blown, to this day, as to why they didn't just film all the scenes with her (and maybe the actual actress off to the side saying all her lines, or maybe even just film it twice to get her facial performance--or motion capture her face, or *something* ) and just CG the main actress' face over the stand-in model's. Just... why!? I guess they *wanted* it to look terrible, or something...?

Gina Carano would've been an amazing She-Hulk. I saw some awesome fan art with her as the character..but that would require working with Disney again, and she's better off without them. They could've done the paint job Guardians of the Galaxy did with Zoe Saldana. That would require competency and skill, two more qualities lacking in that writer's room. The unfinished renders of deleted scenes from Avatar look loads better than the visual effects in She-Hulk: Attorney at Ludicrous.

If we are talking any reboot/remakes, then the only reboot/remake I can think of that is good is You've Got Mail. It was the second of two remakes based off of a movie called Shop Around The Corner with Jimmie Stewart. That is the only one, but it is not a super hero flick though.

Just for the sake of comparison to past shows.. Xena Warrior Princess in 1995 cost $1M per episode (24 per season) and the episodes were 45-50 minutes long. That'd be ~$2M in today's money. Stargate SG1 was $1.3M in 1997 and went up to around $2M in season 10 per episode. It'd be around $310-350M spent for a total of 10 seasons (214 episodes). There's definitely money being misappropriated here for She-Hulk and many other shows that are overbudget these days.

You shouldn't be confused about Velma. It was a two season package. The second season was already okay'd and put into production before Season 1 went out into the air. So Velma is a sunk cost from a starting investment. What you should expect is that there will be no Season 3. There's also the issues of Parrot Analytics, a marketing firm that sells the idea of desired IP based on Interactions.

so the She-hulk is 7ft tall, is not easy to find someone that tall, but you can do some camera trick with angles and other things to make her look that big, lot of movies have done that before. also Titania was supose to be as big and as strong as She-hulk and they used a normal size actress for her. for example, a easy way to cut money was to make her interec with most normal humans in her Jennifer form, and the She-hulk will most interact with toher big characters. Titania the Demolition Crew they are all big character that have normal size in the show.

The Dark Knight Trilogy is a reboot that was better than what came before it. Of course, the last film prior to Batman Begins was Batman & Robin so it didn’t have to meet a lot of expectations beyond the basic be a good film for audiences.

I would just love to know what in the heck they did with all that money. It sure doesn't show in what they vomited out onto the screen, and it had to go somewhere. But where? Oof... And to be honest, the best thing for Marvel(And the comic industry as whole, really...) is for it to go tits up and get sold off at a huge loss. Then maybe, just maybe, someone who actually gives a poo about it could grab it up and resuscitate it. Someone who would put it back where it was before it was a being tossed around as money machine and a prestige job for pol sci graduates. I don't see it happening, but boy, would it be nice. Star Trek and Star Wars too. D&D. Any number of video game franchises. I could go on for a while with this, lol. Warhammer 40K is still holding pretty well, thankfully. I think largely due to the fact that GW seems to have a semi-solid spine and the fanbase were willing to gatekeep, perhaps due to the fact that 40K took a little bit before the tourist invasion came rumbling along. I'm guessing they saw what happened to so many other lore heavy IPs and collectively took a stand and said "Nah, bruh. We're good.". Or maybe not, I can't say. I took a long break decades ago and am now getting back into it after I found out the new guy at work was big time into it. Now I'm all back down the rabbit hole and very, very poor. Lol.
