I give this episode 8/10, it definitely was one of the more enjoyable shows in the series, thought it would've been better for her to have a father, that was a jewel thief and taught her in the ways, rather than just a spoiled rich girl that was trying to copy Batman's look. Like you mentioned she at least fit this time period rather than the forced stuff they did in other episodes.

I enjoyed this episode. I thought this was a good version of Catwoman, and I like her and Batman's interactions. It was cool that the photographer Batman used to catch her in the act was Eel O'Brian, aka Plastic Man. Selina's maid running off with the money at the end since she wasn't getting paid was hilarious. This episode was probably the most fun one in the season.

it's definitely a catwoman episode! this episode feels like the most kiddy (get it cuz KITTY) episode because of how light hearted the writing is. and i find that to be a breath of fresh air compared to all the mature noir carnage with the rest of the villains

I mainly agree with you on this episode so it's not going to be a big long write up. I LOVE the maid character! (Greta BTW not Gretchen) In fact, it played off as a mirror version of the Bruce/Alfred relationship in many ways. The take on Selina living like a rich person but in reality is neck deep in bills and creditors is a great take.. Kinda reminds me of a certain someone running for president actually LOL. I love Selina's personality here as she's clearly being modelled off the sassy and slightly bratty female character types in old '40s movies and it works here. Christina Ricci does a fantastic job with her voice acting here. A couple things, one big and one small: The big thing is this. I've been doing some re-assessing and while I don't have as big of a problem with Harleen Quinzel/Harley Quinn as a lot of people seem to do but I've been thinking that the writers kind of missed a HUGE opportunity here as they could've easily replaced her with Dr. Hugo Strange. Hell, it'd even work in the context of the next episode because I KNOW there's an old Batman comics storyline where Strange helped out with a task force after Batman. The whole "taking methods from Batman and becoming a cracked mirror version" was also in that story and is a big part of Harley's role here. That said it'd rob some of the cool "girl power/nights out" vibe of the Gordon/Quinzel/Montoya trio that we got but they could've easily massaged that IMO. If they want diversity they could've made Strange a person of color or hell, make him gay so then he could slip in more easily with the other two ladies. Anyways i'm sure there will be more discussion in Ep 5 about all that. The small thing is about O'Brien. I forget if his full name is said here or in another episode but his name is Eel O'Brien and that's the alter ego of Plastic Man. I'm not sure if this is just a cool name drop or if we'll see him turn into Plas in Season 2 but it's something to look out for.

This could be a reflection of Bruce's relationship with Alfred as in this show Bruce is, at least initially, less than appreciative of Alfred's help as both foster father and butler, while Selina similarly treats her maid poorly enough for the maid to take action.

I dunno, for me this, episode has all the same issues the other episodes have. Catwoman appears. She gets caught, you don't see her again in the season, she isn't brought-up in conversation. She's using high-heels to outrun the police, do acrobatics and to jump from rooftop to rooftop, and she can even fight Batman with no training. Maybe her father is Falcone, that would make sense, but it's not mentioned. Her motivations are far below what we've been used to from BTAS, Batman Returns, Year One... That flashback scene where kid Bruce wakes up Alfred has a Shinning vibe to it that was legit hilarious. I just can't take any of this show seriously. It's bad.

I'm shocked by how they straight up depicted Catwoman in her Golden Age design with no subversive raceswapping or changed motivation. She's how you'd expect from something like Batman: The Brave & the Bold, right down to having ger own customizable car. I wish Timm could've done the same with the other characters, but unfortunately, he continued the dumb PC redesigns with Harley, which I'll get to when the next review's released. She's my one issue with the episode.

Also, so far, it's the only episode I've seen which actually has blood. When Catwoman's leg is shot by one of the corrupt cops, it bleeds. Caped Crusader's supposed to be rated TV-14, right? Shows like Superman TAS and TNBA were allowed to show bloody injuries despite being aimed for all ages. Yet this can mostly only depict bruises. It gets worse in the next episode, when a villain is *SPOILERS* shot out a window and crashes on top of a car, there's no blood dripping down his body.

I’ll just say this episode 6 was my favorite the one with gentleman ghost but this is a close second I think episode 7 is my least favorite episode 1 is up there too just because the story itself was not that interesting even if they had a male version of the penguin and they made changes to accomadate that it still would have been boring/bad it’s not a strong first episode. Again just don’t care for the change why not have some change once in a while as we have 80 years of Batman media so why do the same thing over that’s my take at least. I dont like that selina gets caught many times and people already knew she was a thief before being catwoman, also that they didn't adapt her modern look which is that she is an antihero and one of the most important people in bruce life, they turned her into a joke of a thief that batman just puts in jail and forgets about her. I really hope she gets character development in season 2 and batman starts to fall in love with her. Is like bruce timm hates selina kyle and batmans greatest love and wants bruce to only be with barbara gordon.

Being attractive is not something that's wrong to promote in animation or in gaming. Without male female attraction you wouldn't be born. What else did your hive cult mind tell you. That having fun playing video games and bring attracted to women is wrong. Come'on you're practically admitting you're in a cult. Ever seen 6000 lb life on TV thats the kind of unhealthy mindset your comment is promoting. Healthy is just normal. It's a good goal to achieve. Doesn't mean everyone needs to look like that but its a good thing to shoot for just like eorking hard snd getting an education reading books and taking care of your parents when they are old. Its a basic normal thing to look up to. Forcing characters to be overweight is not a good thing to push for young people watching at all.
