I hold my yarn completely differently. I just learned the way my mum does it & her mum did it. Your way looks much faster & less mucking around. Could you please do a video demonstrating how you do it?

Hi. I am using Eastern or continental way of knitting. Some people get confused when they see me knitting like this, but the difference is that I hold the working yarn in my left hand and make a tension using my left point finger. You are right it is faster and less mucking around 🤗. At the beginning it might be confusing for you too but a little bit of practice and I am sure you can do it as well.

Can you just use shorter cable, rather than a longer one where you have to do the loop thing?

It was uncomfortable for me due to small number of stitches. . Use any needles you feel comfortable with
