I apologize for all of the weird things going on in this video. whatever is happening with the lighting in the beginning... It does stop! 😊 I also lost audio suddenly at one point, no idea why. I probably just shouldn't have posted this footage because so many things went wrong, but I figured what's the harm in leaving it up! It the issues bug you, I totally understand and I'll see you next time ❤️

These were not big issues at all! They didn’t lessen my enjoyment of the episode, and I’m so glad you didn’t re-record. This one was just great as is, and I loved seeing the progress on all your projects!

You can absolutely keep knitting without increasing if you've reached your desired sleeve and body circumference but you want a longer yoke. I've done it and I don't feel like it's noticable, but if you end up not liking how it looks, one thing you can do is space out your last several increases for a smoother transition (increase every 4th row instead of every other for example)

You shouldn't apologize.❤ We watch you because we like you and enjoy seeing your projects. The colors of all the yarn are perfect for you. They'll be beautiful for you to wear. This last year you had more (possibly too much) on your plate to deal with and now life is refreshed and you can enjoy your knitting. I'm very glad for you! And btw, I barely heard the Legos. It wasn't a problem. 5K subscribers!?!? Wow!! That's awesome!! Oh! I love that yarn!! 🧶❤🧶

Hi Makayla! Congrats on 5,000. Your knits and the way you talk about your projects always inspires me. I love the green as a vest but can’t wait to see it finished with the sleeves and the embroidery flowers on the neckline that you mentioned a while back. I am still in awe over your Alpine Bloom and can’t wait to see your 2nd one. And still thinking about your Roosty Tank Top from a while ago too!! ❤

I stop knitting increases when I reach the desired BODY or ARM circumference. If my sleeves are big enough I will stop increasing for the sleeves and continue the body increases ... or vice versa. Usually by the time I need to stop increasing, I am at the point where the fabric will connect under the arm and no one can see what is going on under there. I have measured and figured out what upper arm (sleeve) and body circumference I like in my sweaters and just knit until I get there. If for some reason I need to add more increases than the pattern states, I will just throw a few in under the arm. If you want to know the dimension of your sleeve, bust, etc. do this: divide your stitch gauge by 4, then divide the number of stitches by that number. For example, if your stitch gauge is 24 sts (in 4" / 10cm), divide 24 by 4 which equals 6. Then if your sleeve is 72 stitches, divide 72 by that 6 and you have a 12" sleeve. You can just stop knitting when you get to your desired dimensions. Happy knitting 😀

Oh my goodness, the new Ranunculus and the My Time sweaters are going to be gorgeous on you! So glad you didn't frog your advent knit because those colors will be awesome on you, too. I made that sweater also, and I love it - it is so comfy!! The "flower" stitch gets quicker as you get more used to it. Your bedroom setting was perfectly fine, I think. And boy, do I remember the sound of legos being rummaged through! 😂 It was not super audible on the podcast, though. Enjoy your summer to the fullest! 💗

Congrats on 5,000👏💐 I so enjoy.your podcast - You are calming and a very sweet person who is also a very adept knitter! I love to see all your very adorable projects. I was glad you questioned how to add length to your raglans without having either the front or arms being affected depending on where the increases were. So I looked into the Comments section for an answer and did get a couple very useful tips on what to do for myself - thank you very much! Also, I don’t think I’ve ever heard your children doing anything in the background, so no worries for you there. Have a great summer!

Congratulations on 5000! Your set up in the basement is just fine. Noises were not bothersome at all. My sweet spot for WIPS is 4-6. More than that stresses me out and I end up going into finishing mode so that I can whittle them down. You are drawn to those blues and greens because they look great on you. I am more drawn to warm colors because they look better on me. It’s so fun to explore color theory.

Always so happy to see one of your videos pop up in my feed! I can totally relate to your comment about knitting things in colors that you wouldn't pick in a store bought sweater. It's always surprising to me when I knit something like that. I guess somehow me making it transforms it. Ranunculus- yes you can do rounds before the raglan increases. I added a few to mine before doing the raglan shaping. Alternatively you can lengthen the raglan increase section by: doing the raglan increase round, then 2 plain rounds instead of just one and it’s keeps the same shaping and not add extra stitches. Enjoyed your video!

If I needed the yoke to be deeper I would increase to follow the pattern but then k2tog to keep the count the same. That way you have the same raglan look without actually increasing. Love your podcasts and your lovely projects! For the ranunculus - if you need to add more raglan increases you can always cast on that number less for the underarm stitches to get a smaller sleeve/body circumference. I usually need more room in my sleeves so I sometimes move stitches from the body to the arm. Hope that helps some! I think I have knit 6 ranunculus so far in all different weights of yarn.
