I would love to see the cardigan recommendations too - cardigans tend to work better in my day-to-day life, so always excited for cardigan inspiration Also - Tanis does have a pullover companion to the Jethro - just the front is crochet, so more knitting - I think it's called Fleetwood.

Will not stop getting a little buzz when I see my face on one of these thumbnails! The Cargill making the list makes me SO happy, BUT it's a labour-intensive stitch and I'd say if you're on a deadline for Rhinebeck, pick something with a looser gauge and not slipped stitches. It's worth it in the end for those squishy stitches, but save your wrists if you're time restricted!
@rhondadavis850Ай бұрын
I already know I am not going to get a sweater made, so the three of us who going to Rhinebeck together decided to do a “Rhinebeck cowl” in our own individual color choices. We picked Wendy D. Johnson’s “Leftovers Cowl”. It’s a color work cowl but a really easy knit. I will possibly start a sweater for 2025 as a goal while at Rhinebeck this year since I have the attention span of a squirrel. lol. I can’t wait until Rhinebeck this year!

My vote is finish last years sweater. It’s so pretty! Working two strands together was fine for me in crochet blanket, but trying a garment puts me off. I get so confused on the yarn weight equivalents.

I would love a cardigan video! Knit and crochet patterns as well. I know you sometimes have a hard time finding crochet patterns, so as a Crocheter with relatively similar taste to you i thought i'd reccomend some crochet cardigan patterns. Feel free to ignore these suggestions if you do make a cardigan video, of course! They're just that - suggestions. Also disclaimer: I haven't made most of these yet (i'm a very slow maker) I can't personally attest to how they work up, and I've never made any of these designers patterns either. But they're all in my queue and I think they deserve attention! All size inclusive up to at least 60" bust unless stated otherwise. The *Laveau cardigan by Alison Green* combines bith knit and crochet! It's a FREE pattern, and it has a beautiful crochet body with knit finishings! (The ribbing). *The Sequoia cardigan by Aklori designs* is a fingering weight tunisian crocheted cardigan that I think is really wearable but interesting because of the texture of the tunisian crochet. *The Moonlit cardigan by Linda Skuja* has some beautiful motifs and is very elegant! Also fingering weight. *The Little Fluffy Clouds* cardigan by Zeens and Rogers is so unique and delightful! It has a cloud like puff stitch pattern, and is in a thicker yarn than the rest if you hate fingering weight (DK). *The Rockmore Cardigan* by Ana D is also a thicker yarn, Worsted, and it has amazing textured stitches. The downside is that it's only available through pom pom magazines crochet anthology, which is $15. But you do get a ton of cool crochet patterns along with this one, so the $15 is not for one pattern alone. *The Foglietti Cardigan by Eline Alcocer* is a batwing cardigan with a lace design all around the yoke. Also fingering weight, and the design has a relaxed fit. Her patterns also have a Choose What You Pay model for low income folks if you subscribe to her newsletter, and in addition to being size inclusive the pattern has advice on how to fit the garment to different body types. Its also a bit simpler if the texture and patterns of the other cardigans are a little intimidating. *The Metropolis Cardigan by Tatsiana* is a honorary mention because it isn't entirely size inclusive (only goes up to a 56" bust) but it does have a beautiful lace yoke and every size available has been tested. Its also made out of fingering weight yarn, so going up to a sport weight would get you a similar drape but in a larger size.

Hi Natalie. Yes, finish your tessellated sweater. You have done alot work on it and already and it really looks lovely on you. I love the crochet sweater so might attempt it. Whenever I make a garment though they always turn out to big even if I do a tension swatch so will try a size down and see how I go. Creating a recommended cardigans patterns for crochet and knit would be a great idea. Thankyou. Take care on your next driving adventure.

I can understand your ambivalence on the pullover! I lost my mojo with the Tessellated pullover last fall, tried again with the socks only to abandon them after knitting half a sock. I usually love Andrea Mowry's patterns and have knit several of them, but these designs were just too fussy for me. I planned to start afresh this year with Framed, but after knitting half a gauge swatch came to the same realization - I'm not enjoying the knitting. That's one very important thing I've learned about knitting from your podcast: it's okay to change your mind about a project :-) I might revisit Framed with a sport or DK yarn, but for now will plan to use my Spinster's daughter worsted for the Sunset Sweatshirt!

Hi Natalie. The sea glass sweater made me think of my temperature blanket which makes me think. maybe you can use this sweater pattern as a temperature sweater. As for the sweater you were wearing unfinished, if it's something you want to do/wear, then by all means, go for it. It looks like you already put a lot of work into it. I'm curious to see how it looks finished. Stay safe and enjoy.

The two strands of mohair held together equal a fingering weight, not a DK. Also, take a look at Kate Oates’ Chevv sweater. She designed this for Reinbeck. It is a sport weight colorwork that has a TON of options she gives you for personalization! ❤
@KnittyNattyАй бұрын
You're right! Two lace yarns usually make fingering weight, but mohair is so fuzzy I think it can be bigger? Just going off the pattern for that one! Joji has it listed as DK with a size 6 needle. Oohh Chevv is pretty! Here's the link for anyone else looking: www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/chevv
