My scales are orange? What would u recommend me dying it with. Thanks

I dont know, you'd have to go for a darker color

Can you go into detail on how you protected the carbon steel on the sodbusters during dying?
@BakeryWizard133 жыл бұрын
Well, i haven't really found a great way.

The color of that Rat looks awesome. However, the only purple they have in synthetic is Royal Purple that is super dark. What color did you use to get that shade? And, I love that sodbuster. I have same one in sodbuster jr. Hmm. They do have a very unique look to them, dyed, definitely extra character.

That's the purple I used

I really like how the Buck turned out. Great colour on that bone. Did you tape off the rest of the knife, the springs etc. to prevent that from taking on the red?
@BakeryWizard134 жыл бұрын
I did not, it's all stainless. it shouldn't stain.

Did you do anything to the yellow case handles before dying? I tried dying my yellow mini trapper and it didn't take the dye at all. Unless the fact that I was using regular Rit dye and not synthetic makes that much of a difference.
@BakeryWizard133 жыл бұрын
You absolutely need the synthetic. I tried the regular, it didn't work at all. Even the synthetic dye takes awhile.

@@BakeryWizard13 i’m trying to dye my case bone handle with the rit can I use regular rit dye on bone or do I need the synthetic version do you think?

I honestly don't know, I used the synthetic.

Does the dye fade in time?
@BakeryWizard133 жыл бұрын
The bone probably does, I don't know about the synthetic materials

I did dye white grivory on my mini Bugout with RitDye for synthetic and after over half a year of daily pocket time it is getting slightly lighter shade on the corners.
@jhebertutube3 жыл бұрын
@@Lumpy_Peter you think maybe it’s the dyed surface material just wearing off and showing some lesser-dyed material underneath?
@Lumpy_Peter3 жыл бұрын
@@jhebertutube That's hard to say, but I don't see any wear on the material itself, it's more like the thin layer of paint is being worn off the FRN. When I was researching how to dye the FRN, I found one other knife user, who said he has to 'refresh' the dye approx. every 6 months.
