Thank you, Kelly. I am working on editing a memoir about mine and my mother's journey through Alzheimer's . It is written in a diary type form. Sharing the days of her care, her regressions and the transformations taking place in me as her caregiver as I learn, find and discover the gifts and lessons inherent in walking along side this disease and what that looks like for both of us. Is there anything that would be useful for me to know about this style of writing, that would make it more useful to the reader? Editing is hard. It very much is an excerise in letting go's. Thanks for this great info. One question, if a book goes through this many edits, why am I always finding typos (on Kindle) and errors? And when I find them, what should I do?

Even with all those edits, errors still sometimes make it through! It is frustrating for everyone, and it does make our editor fingers twitch! But honestly there isn’t really anything to do. If the book goes into another edition, the error will be fixed in the next printing.
