@ville666sora I have been to Kennywood several times. Our school picnics were always held there. Kennywood is nice but Knoebels is so much nicer. Free admission free parking pay as your ride. It is how Kennywood used to be. Plus the park is absolutely beautiful in the mountains. I hope that you have a chance to visit there sometime. If you like Kennywood you would love Knoebels

Knoebels is a fun park to visit . Being able to pay for just the rides you want to go on vs an admission price makes it enjoyable for parents/grandparents that want to visit but may not want to go on rides . Love the Phoenix coaster ( lots of air time ) , the Twister is very rough . I never liked going on coasters until I started riding in the front seat . Favorite ride is the Flyers . I didn't think they would ever get the Flying Turns opened. I remember going there the first time and they had just finished construction and then going back several different times and it still wasn't open .

Flying Turns shut down while we were at the park first day but got to ride it on second day. Rode The Phoenix from back seat filmed it but all you could see were the heads of the people in front of me😎😎

Knoebels is awesome!! It is my favorite park. Free admission, free parking. Great old time park. I love the Phoenix and the carousel. Grapping the brass ring is so much fun and a great tradition. It is a beautiful park in the mountains. No park better than Knoebels. Thanks for sharing this video. The Phoenix is awesome in the back seat. So much air time. I love it!! Knoebels is a gem of an amusement park. They don't make them like that anymore. Not sure how they make much profit with free admission, free parking, and encouraging people to bring food in along with cheap food prices. I know the rides are not free but they can't make that much $$$ off the rides alone.

Knoebles has their own lumber yard and golf course and a few campgrounds so they don't make all their money from the park, but they do millions over a weekend at the park. I'm local and use to work security for them. I use to have escort the cash at the end of the night.

I love Knoebels. I live about 25 minutes from the park. I am there many times throughout the year. Its fun at Halloween. So thankful i live so close. Glad you enjoyed it.

I went to this Amusement Resort 3 times. I went to Knoebels with my then-wife and her family. It is more than an Amusement Park. It has a campground as well. It has sites for tent camping and sites for Campers and Trailers. They also have cabins that have just sleeping lofts to fully furnished and have a small kitchen and indoor plumbing. A family can rent fully furnished houses that surround the park. Did you notice flood level markers??? The park receives a lot of rain during severe thunderstorms and sometimes a hurricane or tropical storm. The campground has a free shuttle bus service for people to get to the park without walking. The food is so good. I wish I had the chance to ride Flying Turns. That ride was being constructed the 3 times I was there and after the 3rd time I went, they opened the after we left a few weeks after. I would love to ride it. I can't because I don't have money or a car to go anywhere. My former mother-in-law's partner was the one who drove us to Knoebels. I miss going to the park. I miss camping there. I miss waking up in the morning to crisp clean air and eating breakfast. Eating while camping is so much better. We had to bring our own water since I can't drink well water. Something about well water screws up my digestive system. I swam in the pool there and it was so refreshing. I still have a sweatshirt from Knoebels. I took 2 videos of me riding Twister and Phoenix. The Alamo restaurant has some great food. That is my review. You didn't go into The Alamo???

Fantastic vlog of an Amazing " old school amusement park". It was great to see two of my favorite KZbinrs spending time in my favorite amusement park. I took my daughter there many times as she was growing up and last September was able to go with my daughter and my three grandkids. Unfortunately they took that ride out. I think it was safe enough for us old people when we were kids but wasn't safe enough for the modern snowflake era. It's been gone for awhile. Salt and pepper shakers was It's nickname the real name was the satellite.

New subscriber and I’m really enjoying your videos! I found y’all from these Knoebel’s videos. I’m a native Pennsylvanian…50 years old and my favorite amusement park is definitely Knoebel’s, so thank you for doing the videos on the park, food, etc…. Knoebel’s is great for older folks and disabled folks as well as the rest of the family. I can’t stress that enough to amusement park enthusiasts…. and having the shade with the benches and casual, laid back atmosphere is beneficial to anyone that isn’t at the peak of their youth. It’s very rare that you get an amusement park that isn’t just a big, blacktopped heat-box. 😂 I’ve been to most amusement parks on the east coast and northern part of the Midwest (Ohio mostly) and I must say, people don’t realize how many great places we have other than Coney Island and Six Flags, Great Adventure. So, thank you for doing so many great videos about the east coast and southeast US. There are so many KZbinrs that do west coast or. Texas….but not many doing what y’all are doing. And I just love all the videos I’ve watched so far…I’ve been binge watching since finding y’all. ❤ Btw…where are y’all from? Thanks for the review! Still in awe of my local park being showcased. I used to work at the gift shop right by the Organ. Potato cakes are a local staple around here-it’s a Polish, Coal Region thing-all of the church picnics have them. I’ve never had from Knoebels, I think it’s because I know how authentic ones are supposed to taste. If they are made homemade with real shredded potatoes, they are amazing. The food court also offered some local, Polish cuisine too, halushki and kelbesia. Glad you enjoyed your trip!

If you like potato pancakes my mother used to make delicious zucchini pancakes. Make them just like potato pancakes and add onion and your egg and flour and whatever else, salt and pepper, No Seeds and no skin. They taste delicious with sour cream.

There were many amusement parks like this throughout Pennsylvania and United States that have since been knocked down and demolished. One of my favorite back in the 1970s was Six Gun Territory in Willow Grove Pennsylvania. Nice video Thank you 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🌹

Omg yes been there also in the 70's. Wow great memories back then. Small world I lived in South Philly in the 7O's my mom and dad bless their hearts always took me and my 2 older sisters their. Wish those times were back but at least the memories will always be with me.

@@doreenkratzer6685 I grew up on the edge of Philadelphia. I used to ride my 10-speed bike to Six Gun Territory in Willow Grove in the early 70s. I loved the 1960s and 70s and 80s. They were the best times and the best music.

Looks like fun! I would have loved this place when I was a kid. One thing I never see at any of the places you eat at is, Scrapple. Yes, I know what it is, and I like it.

I don't think you mentioned it but the tickets NEVER expire. We keep the unused tickets in the glovebox for the next trip up. There are also discounts to be had towards both wrist bands and books of tickets. I like to bring a lawn chair and sit under the trees while the kids run around and ride, or just wander around and eat.

Thanks for the information about the tickets. I like the idea that they don't charge you to go into the park. Especially if you don't ride anything and just want to walk around and get something to eat.😎😎

Cool video, I have to say I've never seen a trackless rollercoaster before watching this. I used to live in Maryland and we used to frequent Hershey Park but I hadn't heard of Knoebels until watching this. It looks like a fun, clean place to take the family!

Great park. That's all there is to it. Only one downside that I know of, if it has rained recently, it will be muddy because many of the paths are dirt.

In my youngervdays I'd of loved those wooden roller coasters. They looke fabulous, but also looked as if to rough for me these days. A good old true coaster that Twister looked amazing. That trackless coaster was very interesting. Pretty sure I'd have to try it if I ever find myself there. I love that this place exist. Great place for familys on a budget. You can bring the kifs and let them ride and have fun without breaking the bank just for everyone to get in. Most all the food looked enjoyable. Thanks for sharing this place.

It is nice that you can just walk around and pay zero. We enjoy that part of it. The trackless coaster to me was more rough than the others. It jerked you around more but was a blast. 😎😎

This is not the big theme park so if that’s your thing, this would be a disappointment however I love this amusement park! Free parking, free admission for non riders, you can bring your own picnic food and beverages, not obligated to buy eat in the park which I find affordable for the average family. I believe that the potatoe pancakes were more of a German style with grated fresh potatoes, eggs, flour, s&p and fried. You can also add caraway seeds if you like. I do half n half and we usually enjoy apple sauce with the dish. Left over mashed potatoes we call just fried potatoes patties so depending on where you grew up is the big difference in name and taste. I am German so used to the old way of cooking from my mother who was first generation American. I think Humidity plays a part of taste knowing that I experience a stale ice cream cone. Wooden coaster to me are GOAT! Kennywood Park near Pittsburgh is old school amusement park as well.
