I can see this being a really good option as a bike light that doubles as a torch with how they have designed the gopro mount, as it seems so quick to disengage along with the battery life. Also, I could see myself charging the torch while still mounted on the bike at the same time as the Di2 as well. Good design Knog!

Yeah so I got the Blinder 900 today and turns out it can't be charged while using it! Thats a bummer. Otherwise I really like this light. Build quality is great and if dimmed down it can be used for many hours straight.

Are you sure you can't charge it while riding? The Blinder 900 I have seems to work while charged in whether plugged in whether I attach a USB-C cable while it is on or when off.

Awesome video! I like to ride on urban roads before the sun comes up. If I angle the Knog down as to not blind oncoming traffic, does it still illuminate far enough out front?
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 23 күн бұрын
Yes, you can adjust the angle to reduce glare while still giving you enough illumination on the road. If you do a lot of urban riding, I might recommend a different headlight, something with a StVZO style beam cutoff (see Magicshine lights, Trek Commuter Pro, Lupine) eliminates glare for oncoming traffic without sacrificing beam distance.

I got this light now, but the go pro mount is not holding firmly on the handlebar mount. It just swings around loosely. Any idea how to get it to hold firmly in place? It's a shame Knog didn't provide the screws needed to attach it either.
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 11 ай бұрын
Do you mean the GoPro attachment rotates? If that's the case it sounds like your GoPro thumb screw or bolt / nut setup isn't tight enough. I would try to tighten it up, or use a different thumbscrew. Nearly all mounts come with the thumbscrews / bolt needed for the GoPro mount which is why KNOG doesn't include one. You can also buy them nearly anywhere - www.amazon.com/gopro-thumb-screws/s?k=gopro+thumb+screws

You really need to torque the nut down. I have the same problem with all my go-pro mounted accessories.

I like this, but looking at the 1300 for fast alpine descending at night. Do you know of any rear lights that are also USB C?
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 11 ай бұрын
The Magicshine Seemee 300 / RAVEMEN TR350 / TR500 / Moon Sport Helix Sense are all USB-C if you want a matching bright taillight. Knog's taillights (R-150 for example) have built-in USB-A ports which are cool but not as convenient as a USB-C slot.

@@TheSweetCyclists Thanks for the suggestions, the Knog looks nice but I really wish they'd just kept everything USB type C for convenience. I also found a Fenix option which seems reasonable, although only 15 lumens

Yes, we have the review for the original Fenix BC05R (kzbin.info/www/bejne/fmSufYNsiNmMmsU) and I actually still have it attached to my backpack for extra visibility. The RAVEMEN/ Moon Sport are the brightest USB-C lights we've reviewed.@@gemsandlasers269

Just tried the 1300. Strap part does not hold the light at all. Tried every which way and it still flew off at the 1st bump. Go pro adapter fits securely but now ill have to screw that in somewhere. Not happy with it

Did you test how bad it blinds other persons in traffic?
@TheSweetCyclists

As with any non-beam cutoff light, the light generates glare. You'll want to tilt it downward a bit when you're riding on bike paths or busy areas to reduce the glare. The higher output modes are great for riding off road or gravel where you can light up the trail without worrying about oncoming traffic.

Can it be turned on and light during charging?
@TheSweetCyclists

Yes, the Blinder supports on-the-go charging. It seems like all the modes are available even while it is being charged.

@@TheSweetCyclists Did you try it? I even wrote to the Knog's support and here is what they replied: "Unfortunately as a result of the signal chain, you will not be able to charge and operate the Blinder 1300 at the same time. "
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists Жыл бұрын
@@MarekZiokowski At least with my version, I'm able to operate the light while it appears to be charging (the indicator light is flashing). It's possible they may have removed the feature or it isn't actually charging (just the indicator light is blinking).

@@TheSweetCyclists I got another answer from the support: "You cannot power the Blinder without charging the battery - any current from a power bank is going to go to the light via the charging circuit resulting in the light bein inoperable when dead. "
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists Жыл бұрын
That's too bad to hear. I'm not sure why more companies don't add on-the-go-charging it seems like it should be easy with a USB-C port.@@MarekZiokowski

No, this model does not have a programing option. All four LEDs operate together in all the modes.

Would you take knogg blinder 600 or lezyne 800lm xl ?
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists Жыл бұрын
I haven't personally used the Lezyne light, but based on the specs I think the Blinder 900 would be a better choice if you want USB-C and a wider beam for fast riding (4 vs 2 LEDs). The Lezyne seems to be a bit more compact but lacks to dual-sided mounting option.

How dod you switch modes ?
@TheSweetCyclists

There is only a single button for the light. A double press switches between the modes while a single press switches intensities.

How can I change the 21700 battery?
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 9 ай бұрын
Unfortunately no, the battery is integrated into the body of the light. Most brands don't have removable batteries, but brands like Fenix and other flashlight companies do have that feature.
@felixg.6493
@felixg.6493 9 ай бұрын
@@TheSweetCyclistsThank you for the input. I think a non removable battery is way too normalized. It should be the standart. But yeah, you described how it is. At least the EU is doing something against this with smartphones. I need to replace my old lights because of this. Can you recommend me some besides the Fenix ones? I barely found any.

The mount feels pretty secure, we haven't had any issues with it over rough roads or potholes. I'm not sure if it's rated for jumps / single track though.
