I don't usually comment on videos but these cinnamon rolls are by far the tastiest thing I've ever baked! I don't have a stand mixer so I kneaded the dough by hand which took a whilte and I didn't get quite the same consistency but that didn't affect the rolls too much in the end. I had a lot of trouble spreading the cinnamon filling on the dough (perhaps in the future I would melt the butter so it's easier to spread) but I decided to create the rolls anyway and I was really surprised that they turned out looking pretty decent. I split the rolls into 12 and baked them in a cupcake tray for 12 minutes which seemed like the perfect duration

I love cinnamon buns and now there are two different ways from this channel to make em. Dane is awesome as always. And I’ve always wanted to pitch the idea of like either a video or live bake along where Sally, Dane, Nikki (spell check) and Jemma all bake the same recipe but with each their own style like the cake pop video I would love to see more of that :)

Recipe worked really well and these were delicious! I had to knead for about 15mins by hand, I used dark brown soft sugar as that’s all I had and I baked them in a normal cupcake tray, I just made them a little bit smaller by dividing the dough by 8 instead of six. I also topped them with some icing (just icing sugar and water mix).

I was watching Richard Bertinet’s version of these buns just the other day but it was killing me how his recipe isn’t in grams or ml! Perfect timing! I am going to make these but cut the dough into 12 pieces so they will fit in a regular cupcake tin 🥰

Crazy question: I love the idea of a 'ball bun'. Could you bake these without the muffin pan to maintain a 'ball' shape?

They'd lose their shape , and the bottom would be flat. Maybe if you found some half-round molds to bake them in?

I always bake them without the muffin pan. Just secure the ends and make sure the connected bit is on the bottom. They won't be as round, but the shape is still beautiful :)

So I made full recipe, but I don't have jumbo muffin tins so I made 12 buns (and they still came out pretty big). I have this little oversized cupcake tin so worked for this perfectly. 😊 I made sure to seperate the dough in two parts before the first rising to not awake the gluten before the rolling. And I added a thin layer of Nutella on top of the cinnamon filling and omg it was even better!

Oh and the sugar did not stick to the buns for me so I had to brush a tiny bit of butter all over each bun before dipping them into the cinnamon sugar. 😊

If you’re doing them in a muffin pan (as opposed to the mega sized one shown), do you need to make them smaller to avoid over filling the pans?

the "window pane" technique is pretty reliable. (holding it up and letting it stretch to translucent but not tearing) You're more likely to mess up on proofing.
