Michael, thanks for calling Lera out, I’ve been a huge fan for years after discovering her at a live gig here in Nashville. Hauntingly gorgeous melodic sensibility - vocally and instrumentally. Another favorite of mine is her duet with Dylan LeBlanc, ‘What is Love’. Phenomenal. (Also, props to the band and the production team - impeccable).

I have been obsessed with Lera for about 10 years now. My husband happened to find her on a feature by Garden and Gun magazine when only her first album was out. I remember seeing the teaser trailer for True Detective season 2 one day and I instantly knew that was her voice. I have seen her live 4 times and literally crave the next time I get to see live. I was lucky enough to be at one of her show’s that the banjo player from the Wolf Like Me video was in the audience so she pulled him up to play the song. One of my favorite songs of all time is Black Hole Sun and she did a live cover at the last show I saw her at and almost lost my mind! I am glad more people are finding her!

Michael, new subsciriber here! Thank you for bringing such beautiful artists to light my friend. I played a little guitar as a kid, but never stuck with it sadly. I'm in my mid 50s now and pieces like this just absolutely melt my heart. I can recognize the musicianship and I know the talent it requires. Your picking them apart allows an even greater appreciation. Thanks for being there for guys like me. Keep it up please.

I discovered her randomly when "Avenues" came out, and Sailor Song was the first song I heard from her; it's hauntingly gorgeous. Then totally forgot, and True Detective Season 2 came in like a force, reminding me, where she recorded 5 songs for it, and is in a few episodes playing them live. "The Only Thing Worth Fighting For" is my favorite from the bunch, and now have almost every song from her ❤.

I'll echo what others have put below, her cover of TV on the Radio's "Wolf Like Me" is one of my all-time favorite covers. She recorded it with Shovels & Rope and it's great, but my favorite is the version with just her and Ben Lewis on banjo sharing one mic. I don't think we're allowed to post links here but search "Lera Lynn Wolf Like Me" and pick the one where they're in front of a brown curtain. Amazing.

Not in to the "Sounds like" comparisons" I think she's unique, original, great range and expression. I had the opportunity to talk to her after a festival. Asked her if "Bobby Baby" was about someone she knew. She said, yeah, that one is about my Dad. After removing foot from mouth all I could say was so sorry. She was very sweet. Check out the acoustic duo videos with the guy from Of Montreal.

The camera shots are almost perfect. On focus, sharp. But the movement is just janky. Put those shots on something rigid and with a pivot or glide (I'm not in the industry so not sure on the lingo), could be perfection. Too much movement. The music IS SENSATIONAL! Keep going! Thank you!
