I had a 73 Duster with a 340, in the late 70s, I was a regular shopper from the old direct connection catalog. Factory speed parts, for a twenty something guy you just don't get much better than that.

Have a 71 Demon 340 block in my garage to build for my 74 Duster. Started as a slant 6, built a 318 and installed as my daughter drove it to high school. P/S, P/B & A/C car. Currently doing a lot of work to my 70 Chevelle SS 454 now.

@@Duster_Garage I built mopar race cars and restored old mopar a for a living for 30 years. Definitely gonna do it right. I’ve had the Chevelle since the mid 90s and completely redoing interior and replacing all sheet metal from windshield forward. On the downhill slope now. Drivetrain is a new 500 inch motor, 400 trans and 12 posi. Fun to drive

@Duster_Garage Took apart the numbers matching 383 to my '69 bee this week. It's been out of the car since the 70s. Not my doing but #8 rod journal slightly spun, no deep grooves thankfully. I built a 440 and put in it instead, saving the factory 383 for whomever down the road when I'm gone. If these old cars could talk...lol

@@Duster_Garage I've wasted a lot of hours all ready. Only muscle cars from 70's are talked about. I'll switch over to looking for part numbers from block and head. And buy some part books, or see if a dodge dealer would look them up. The dealer said to me,( but I don't know if he meant in the last decade or 2 or what) but he said there are no more part books. Only hard drive records.
