Honestly, I don't get how you don't have 100k subscribers yet. We don't even have bass in my country, yet I've picked up so many useful tips from you, that work for walleye n perch fishing just the same. Thanks dude!

Thank you for another eye opening “you’re changing what we know about fish behavior and how to fish” video. Amazing stuff as always! Watching the bass studying the offering is something I’m going to remember and believe. I remember way back in the 70s Tom Mann and Bill Dance talking about worm fishing “honey hole” areas. They said about letting the worm soak “you just gotta believe.” Amen!

That is really great information. This is one of those videos that can help an angler go from a terrible day to a very good day just by paying attention to the action of the bait underwater. Stitching is something I could certainly do more of.

I could do more of it too. Especially when it is tough I get antsy and start to go way too quick.

That makes a lot of sense Steve. I have never been a really good jig fisherman, but recently have been doing well with them when I slow down. I have caught more fish on the initial fall than I have during the retrieve. Ill be trying this with my other bottom baits also. Thanks Steve.

I wish I had someone like you to help me. My home lake is notorious for being difficult to fish, and tournaments and live scan have made it impossible for anglers like myself to catch much of anything anymore. Understanding the fish from a biological standpoint as well as proper bait usage for the situation would make a huge impact on my ability to enjoy fishing my home lake again.
@JS-oy6nn Жыл бұрын
I always go to the basics when my “usual” doesn’t work keep it simple. Clear water green/brown dirty black/blue. Wacky, Texas rig, are always good for a couple fish no matter where I’m at., swimbait with underspin points, coves, shade lines grass lines are were I usually do good.

My home lake has gotten super hard as well. To make the most if it on those days when it seems impossible, I will pick an area and forget the rest of the lake. This helps me to not get to overwhelmed and look for just one bite - usually on something very finesse like a shaky head. And it has also helped me mentally to look at a bite or two as success for those really hard waters. And like the other viewer mentioned, just keep it simple.

@@SteveRogersOutdoors thanks for all the advice I've gotten. Been losing confidence at a big pace on that lake. Took everyone's advice today and picked a cove I know pretty well. Threw on a simple multi species underspin and double tail grub on the lightest pole I had, and broke it apart like I had never seen the cove before. In two hours out I managed to land 6 smaller fish I'd have never caught using my typical lures and hooked into a monster that threw me on a jump not 2 feet from the boat. May not be a cooler of crappie or catching lurker smallmouth like I wanted, but at least I know I can still catch fish. Thanks guys. Maybe I need to step back and just learn my lake again.

@SteveRogersOutdoors Жыл бұрын
That was is a super old Eakins jig by Jewell. I don’t even know if they make it anymore. The other that looks similar later on is a Strike King football finesse. Very tiny football head compared to a normal football jig.

You know when the bite gets slow in central Florida we do something called dead sticking. Mostly this works either in very cold or very hot conditions. I've seen guides who've run out of shiners hook up plastic worms weightless and cast more than one rod out at a time and just let the bait sit indefinitely until they see their line moving off then they set their hook and load the boat with happy customers. I don't have the patience for this but boy does it work. Maybe you could try this and film the results. Lmk what ya think
@SteveRogersOutdoors Жыл бұрын
It is definitely in my list to do! I’ve been trying to do this for a while now and keep getting other things in the way. I need to just block off time and finish this one!
