Don’t forget being generous with your money. Give the first-fruits to the Lord - not the left overs. Matthew 6:33. All we have is a gift from above. The life of gratitude and generosity (charity) blesses us and others in ways that nothing else can. This life is temporal and short compared to eternity. My legacy: Christ was my Leader and along with all the things you mentioned I led my children to be leaders for Christ and to be healthy in body, mind and soul.

I’m 79 retired twenty years and we build our life around exercise. This week we are in Andermatt, Switzerland cycling and hiking. Yesterday we cycled the old cobbled road over the St Gotthard pass, it was fantastic because the road is cleared of snow but still closed to traffic so we ducked under the barrier, we didn’t see a soul all the way down and only a couple of other cyclists on the way back up. Today we took the train to Goschenen and walked back, incredible the river is in full force. It all started when I was fifty, overweight, out of shape, stressed and a smoker. We bought a couple of cheap bikes and started with the local park then gradually day rides, weekends, every holiday. touring. When we retired we took our bikes to Europe for a few weeks every year touring a different country each time and to cut a long story short eventually came to live in Switzerland. Exercise is so important to a long and healthy retirement, so far we only see the doctor once a year for a checkup.

Nice comments on retirement. Jody, you and I were in the same HS graduating class. I have the money to retire but plan to go out gradually. I have saved on my own at the max and have diversified my money on my own. I do like your ideas of how to visualize retirement. I have been so laser focused on my career, but will now focus on the future. Thanks for your channel!

I started saving and investing for retirement in my mid-20s. My father told me the SS payments from my check were for his and my mother's retirement. There would be nothing from SS for me. And I had to fund my retirement via my own savings and investments. I took his word to heart and did just that. Now, at retirement, the picture looks good. We have a lot of money saved and invested since we started in our 20s. And it looks like SS will stick around for a bit longer. I suggest others operate on the same assumption. The worst that can happen is you have extra money when you get to retirement.

Thanks for sharing a great video. I am in the final few months to retire early at 55 and have worked with a financial planner for about 18 years. They have been extremely helpful and set us up for a successful retirement. I also agree on having some sort of vision for your retirement. Imagine one that contains faith / spirituality, friends, financial, fitness, family and a collection of hobbies. Doesn’t that sound great?!

I had a financial adviser since 1987. He retired but he did recruited a CFP and he is doing a good job.I did not have a clear vision how my retirement looks like. I thought we will travel and spend time in studying different aspects of life. When I did retire in Dec.of 2015,so many doors opened up. More time for meditation practice and the big one was back yard gardening which opened my eyes to an entirely new world. Thanks for another helpful video.

16 hours in a day - doesn’t take much to at least allocate 1 hour of this to exercise - especially when you have time on your hands! You have to invest in yourself for a healthier, longer and happier existence.

When you meditate for 10 minutes each morning, what are you actually doing? I count my blessings every few days, and I think gratefulness is part of meditation, but besides counting your blessing and being thankful, I’m just wondering if there are parts to your personal meditation that I could include in mine?

Love of God and then family. Debt free. Passive income, Investments (As much as possible in Roth), and SSA. Build strong social life. Step off with a mission and passion. Retire in to a strong active life knowing it will slow down. You will have done it as well as most people around you and then some. Have seen people do this with very little money. Their life is so much richer than people trying to buy happiness.😎
