The new Shield Spectra jeans from Knox utilize Spectra single-layer stretch with Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWP) construction. Additional features include water repellent technology, invisible armor pockets with external knee access, a YKK zipper, and CE certified Knox Micro-Lock knee and hip protectors. CE approved to EN17092- 3 Class AAA as a protective riding garment.

Maybe was worth mentioning that they have the highest abrasion-resistance AAA rating ? like the one they normally only give to racesuits?

Tons of reinforced jeans have AAA rating, it's fairly easy with that sort of material apparently.

@@shlomoid On RevZilla? No, just a couple other pairs. Internationally? Well over a dozen pairs at this point. I literally have a pair of Spidi pants in hand that went from AA -> AAA in a revised model, despite going down in UHWMPE content. Tear strength, not abrasion resistance, seems to be the hardest thing to get AAA in.

@Omora I know of quite a few models, and have had a number in hand. AAA is not a meaningful abrasion test, period.

You say that these are, "a bit more on the causal side." But these are AAA-rated for abrasion resistance, which is more than most high-end textile riding pants. Doesn't that mean they are more than casual and are better than most riding pants? I don't understand why the high-end riding pants are still using Cordura instead of UHMWPE.

"bit more on the casual side" was in reference to the style not the protection. Just that they can blend in from the outside compared to some other riding pants on the market.

These are too small for pat lol
