That market under construction was already the central market of Kumasi and it used to be open market . And the kejetia market place was once a transport station .

You guys are funny, this market and others were planned by the government, the loan was secured by the then government, even kotokuraba market in the Central Region was also redeveloped, it's just not as big as Kejetia. In Ghana,if you talk about business, Ashanti is very much more oriented than Accra. Central Market was the biggest, but now under renovation. Kajetia was bus station to all destinations in Ashanti,however, the former president Mahama tur it to be market,which the Asantes complain about. So that brings about the new Central Market to involve car stations there to be the biggest in Africa

Bro, your tour guide did well with a slightly inaccurate info. Alabar (Allah-bar) is how it is pronounced. It's a vast area, which merges with other suburbs to make up the Zongo community. It is predominantly a mixed tribe from northern Ghana, along with a few Nigerians. Islam is the dominant religion, whereas Hausa is the common language. Thanks for showcasing Kumasi to the world.
