I love my Kobalt Pole Saw - 80-volt - 5-ah battery - 10" Bar - 6 ft / 8ft foot Pole Saw. No cable. Using an Oregon Bar and Chain. I have been using it for more than 3 years now. It works great on my southeast Louisiana farm clearing property that a hurricane went through and trashed all the trees in the woods of our 20-acre farm. I carry it all over our woods and the battery lasts a long time. Today I'll be cutting a 6-inch limb off of a tree out front. I am also using (2) Kobalt 80 volt 18" Bar Chainsaw and using the 5 AH Batteries. Cuts huge logs great. The first one wound up in a puddle and stopped working but after a couple of weeks and it had dried out, it started working again. For oil I like to use Ryoby Bar and chain oil.

You should never be in a Ladder and using a Chainsaw! Pros rather Climb the thing with Spikes because its less dangerous! You use a Pole Saw! And do it from an Angle!

Do you drain the bar oil after each use, and do you fill the reservoir all the way up to the line when you use it? I made the mistake of leaving the bar oil after I used it .. and it’s been non stop leaking. I guess I should probably drain it but do you reuse the oil? I’d hate to waste it. Do you just flip it over to drain? Can I add just a little bit instead of all the way full so I don’t have to drain so much at a time?

Before I even used mine once I noticed constant oil leaking from the bottom (I filled oil according to the owner's manual). I don't know if this is a known Defective issue, but I've read other people online report the same oil leaking problem. Anyone else experience this problem with this model?

Same. Now I just set the saw on a lid of a plastic container ti catch the oil and partially refill it.

That's just what battery chainsaws do.. I recommend filling small amounts of oil and keep filling as needed so when you're done theres not gonna be much oil to leak but be mindful to keep oiling the saw as you work

As soon as I put the oil in, it started leaking at the bottom as well. It is not that bad, but hopefully it stays that way.

I have one of these, the biggest problem is it's so quite one can forget what a dangerous tool one has in their hands.
