This was real basketball, not the game we see now. Bunch on players shooting 3's all the time. Crazy how things change. Rest in peace kobe.

I mean if it wasn’t for zone defense being allowed then 3’s wouldn’t have become popular. Blame the NBA for allowing that.

The Lakers made history by being the first road team to win game 7 in 20 years. Robert Horry had 16 points & 12 rebounds. Rick Fox had 14 points & 13 rebounds. Shaq had 35 points & Kobe had 30 points & 10 rebounds.

Back when both teams weren't chucking 45 3s and you had to get hammered for a foul call. This was real basketball.

@domcarter i always read your descriptions. Very well written and detailed. But Every champion needs to go through adversity. That’s what creates legends. Road atmosphere, knowing you hated, and still coming out on top. Like we all say, that year, the WCF was the Finals. In the end, the best players on the best team, always wins.

Much appreciated man that means alot 🙏, and soo true. When you mention that i think of the heat in 12 and 13 of recent years having to endure so much. Struggled with both indiana and boston, down 3-2 to celtics. Then 2013 pushed to game 7 ecf, and down 3-2 to spurs then ofcourse ray allen’s 3. Its crazy how some of these championship teams were ridiculously close to losing their whole season but ultimately prevailed. Imagine of Horry misses that 3 the quest for 3 titles in a row is pretty much guaranteed over.

domcarter hell yea that’s a fact. A lot of teams would/wouldn’t be champions if not for a pivotal play. Just glad the Lakers came out on top.

People can complain about the missed calls and fouls all they want but at the end of the day Peja air balled a 3 that could of turned the game in their favor.

The Sacramento Kings picked a bad time to have a terrible shooting night when they went 16/30 from the free throw line and 2/20 from downtown. That's how the Kings lost Games 4, 6 and 7 and the 2002 WCF altogether to the Lakers: the Lakers kept playing basketball to make a few more plays to win those three games.

They had two shots to go ahead 1 in regulation and 1 in OT they resulted in airball and a total brick off the backboard, la kept their poise the kings had the nerves

Oh my God this video brings back memories. I had all three championship Laker, VHS tapes I would watch no exaggeration this video about five times before I go play basketball to pump my ass up. I watched it easily a couple hundred times maybe more I watch it all your lawn until they got the next one baby.

I feel so bad for the Kings. If it wasn't for the fiasco ref scandal in Game 6 and if Stojakovic just made that last three-pointer with 13 seconds left, the Kings could've easily stomped the Nets in the Finals and won it all in 2002.

Wasn’t Divac oops rebound tip pass to Horry for the win in game 4 in this series too? Kings would’ve been up 3-1

The Lakers were gifted a point in the game horry made the 3 at the end. Walkers 3 at the end of the half was only a 2 because his foot was on the line but they never took the point away so horry's shot only tied the game in reality. Not to mention all the fouls not called to get the Lakers back in the game.
