He got fouled on the follow through too...the reason I remember this game so well is because of my son, who was a big Kobe fan. We were watching the game together and I told him that it’s over, they aren’t winning the game. And he turned to me and said, dad, we have Kobe so it’s not over yet. And sure enough, Kobe hit the tying and winning shots. One of my fondest memories of the black mamba.

@@kevtn8 it's between these and his clutch shots to win game 4 of the 00 Finals on one leg (remember when Jalen Rose slid under Kobe - on purpose, he admitted - to give him that bad ankle sprain thst caused him to miss most of game 2 and all of game 3?). Shaq was fouled out, so if Kobe doesn't come up huge with 3 contested jumpers & an offensive rebound & put back to ice the game, Indy ties the series at 2-2. That would've made it a whole different series, in spite of what Shaq was doing to Rik Smits. But in terms of degree of difficulty? His prime was mainly stylistic choice too. He had the dribbling package and athleticism to get around anybody from 03-10, but preferred to one dribble pull up you with a hand in his face. I guess part of that too, is I've never seen teams sell their entire defense out to stop 1 guy.

In Portland, not vs. Trailblazers overall. Overall, he had a losing record vs. Blazers, one of only 3 teams he had losing record against. But IN Portland, it was more like 7-24 or something like that. Most of the wins were in LA. He won, in Portland, less than 10 times in his career.

Kobe has a lot of great buzzer beats but this one always stood out to me as the most spectacular (with the one over the Miami heat being up there too)

That’s one of the coldest walk off shots in nba history. I mean the difficulty and clutch factor to even hit em is insane. He was looking for the ball on both shots too 🤯

Thats why I miss this man. His more than a legend, his God of basketball. Miss his moment in ball bring joy to my life. I even miss my class in college to watch lakers vs Sanantonio playoffs back in 2000. My miss you Kobe.
