Kobe and MJ are the GOATS in my book, purely based off their mentalities. Skill was one thing - the need to win and dominate was another.

@@MaxGuttsait Kobe > Jordan... & I say that as an old head that grew up watching Jordan. Kobe managed to be the goat while staying humble off the court. Jordan is known for 💩-tting on his fans & admirers & just generally being a bad person on & off the court. for a long time I thought it was Jordan, but Kobe is the real goat.

I saw that Achilles tear moment live... I was flabbergasted, it was the most inspirational thing I have ever witnessed. People DO NOT WALK after tearing the Achilles. There is no tension on the back part of your leg. It would feel like the back part of your leg is on the ground... for him to put mind over matter... that was something to behold. I mean, a dislocated finger happens. Many people have popped it back in and played on... but a tore Achilles usually calls for a stretcher/ cart to move them... it was like watching Jesus walk on water... almost.

I started watching basketball because of Kobe. Just a 13 year old flipping through the channels and seeing him and Shaq going off in the 2000 NBA finals vs the Pacers. It wasn't until 6 months later I saw videos of Jordan and the Bulls win 6 consecutive titles with two 3 peats. Although that was very impressive, I always thought Kobe was my generations Jordan. I was a young chubby teenager before I got on a basketball court and tried to duplicate his moves, lost weight and became "Baby Kobe" by my peers because I played just like him. I even had the mamba mentality when it came down to the clutch along with the "must win attitude. He is the reason I put my playstation controller down, got off my fat ass and laced up a pair of nikes to play basketball. Just developing a passion for the game and being competitive helped me apply that towards my everyday life as an adult. Im 35 now with a wife, 3 daughters and son and they've watched me cheer Kobe on all the way to his very last game. They've even seen me break down when he passed because it felt like I lost a big brother that showed me alot over the years on and off the court. While people til this day debate who is or was the goat between, Jordan, Kobe or Lebron, my goat is the man that impacted my life the most and that will always be Kobe. #mamba4ever

The real Mamba mentality is his relentlessness and not refusing to lose. I've watch a lot of Laker games that i almost want to throw our tv because they are losing. But with Kobe's tenacity, he will take over games that we already think that is a losing game and still overturn it to a W. That's the real Mamba mentality.
