Kobe Bryant shares his sacrifices and dedication to the game and how aging has affected his workouts. Bryant tells about being able to mimic NBA Hall of Famer, Hakeem Olajuwon's “dream shake.” Bryant studied basketball cards to learn the intricacies of players' moves. This desire to perfect his game led Bryant to have a dedicated balance between basketball and his social life. Bryant explains that his sacrifice meant that he wouldn’t be giving up anything, but would be gaining something from it.; taped in 2012

You're the man Graham. Interviews seem like the easiest thing in the world to do, I mean you're supposed to just sit there and ask questions, but it's amazing how many interviewers get it so wrong. You aren't one of them, so I congratulate you. Keep it up!

Real Interview. Finally, someone who asks real questions about his actual life, mindset, and questions that you would ask your friend across the street. Too many interviewers get caught up asking questions about business, the NBA rumours, and shit that is really irrelevant. Great Job Graham.

4:59 Kobe has cultivated a growth mindset, right at the end the interviewer was making the argument that Kobe wasn't the only player who put in the time from an early age so what's the difference (baiting Kobe to put it down to talent), but you could see Kobe avoid that temptation and simply claim the difference was down to not many players starting as early as him

Part of what Kobe didn't mention (in how he was able to mimic the Dream Shake) is that both he and Hakeem were big into playing soccer when they were young, and were familiar with that mindset. It's amazing how much crossover the two sports have!

brilliant observation....they really are almost the same sport. Explosion, endurance, ball skill, reading geometries in a constant flow sport where offense turns to defense and back again without stoppage and all you have to rely on are your legs, teammates, and a ball.

Kobe did not play enough soccer for it to have that much impact on his game. Hakeem? Granted he lived in Nigeria till his mid late teens and all. But Kobe even though he spent part of his childhood in Europe, he has made it clear that he was a basketball freak from the time he was 2. He would play soccer but I believe he said played goalie or something. And growing up in football nations, the kids that weren't too god at soccer were always forced to play goalie. Ask anybody who grew up in Europe or Africa. Kobe is just a super talented basketball player and more I do agree that the two are similar and especially soccer can help shape one's baseball skills

When i was 19-23 in the military. I could run all day. Obstacle course was way easy for me. And i was one of the fastest in my group. I could party all night . Get 2 hours of sleep (or sometimes no sleep) and get up at 4 am for a 3 mile run and exercise. Now at late 40s. I am AMAZED at what i did when i was in. Time waits for no man.

My cousin's were just like Kobe, all 4 were swimmers, up before 5am swimming, dedicated. They were so good they could of qualified 5the Junior Olympics. I think I. My opinion that sports and extra curricular activities make for a well rounded child while in school. You never know it just may end up becoming a career for they if they do choose.

Kobe was the TaskMaster of the NBA. He could copy all of your moves by observation. Glad he gave some credit to Hakeem. Olajuwon and Barkley were my favorite players growing up. I mimic’d my game after them. I copied Olajuwon’s fluidity, footwork, fakeouts, post up fadeaways. I mimicked Barkley’s ferocity. Barkley played like a beast and I always tried to play with the fire of a Barkley or a Rodman.

It's not like you'll be focusing on your craft for those 17 hours you're awake anyways, probably only a few IF even that. Depends on your dedication.

Three things: (1)Kobe is the human form of MJ. He is the closest to MJ we've seen so far. (2)It's not really close. I have just watched the Last Dance, and I was once again convinced of that. (3)It'd be nontheless awesome if any human acheived what Kobe achieved a short but brilliantly lived life.

See too be great at what your do, a void will be created too other things, like family & friends. But its lonely on the top amen!! it helps to grow to be 6'6 but no matter your size. its all about what you're willing to do too your body to be great and pray it holds up. It's a lot too this sport my body didn't survive it but i pass the knowledge to others. it scares people away but that what it takes too be great ask this guy in this video. So every ball player I ask ( WILL YOU SET SCREENS FOR THE STAR, OR WILL THEY BE SETTING SCREENS FOR YOU!) Its a real question, so only real people can answer that! THINK ON IT BEFORE YOU PLAY THIS GAME WORD TO THE MOTHER!! Have fun but respect what ever you put your heart too, God Bless and always keep Jesus first in all you do!!!
