Kobe didn't switch teams for rings, still has more rings, is more skilled, and didn't run for superstars....if anything superstars ran to him (unless the league stepped in to stop a trade here and there). Kobe was also a leader during a dynasty....I still don't understand how you can be a GOAT and not lead or create a dynasty or dominate an era, but Lebron apparently is the only one who can do that.

When it comes to skill alone, LeBronze is like the kid who brings a water gun to a paintball match. He may have some "impressive" numbers and highlight reels, but when you break it down, it's clear that Kobe was on a completely different level. I dont even understand the logic of some people. People widely consider MJ the goat and the media usually say Kobe is the closest the league has gotten to Mj, some have even said they are so close, it is 1A and 1B, so if that's case surely Kobe would be top 2 to 5 just by that logic. The other logic inconsistency i dont get is people routinely consider Magic a top 5 player, Magic and Kobe's career numbers/accolades/personell are similarly ish but somehow Kobe's placement is question, and Magic is unquestionable a top 5 player.
@skap_attack

You're making WAY too much damn sense here. I just don't understand and never will the obvious Kobe slander and hypocrisy in these damn lists. The only point against him is he only has 1 mvp. BUT he has the third most top 5 finishes for MVP ever behind only Kareem with 15 and LeBron with 14. Kobe has 11 which is more than Jordan, Wilt and Russell. Somehow all of those guys have AT LEAST 4 and Kobe only was given one. I am not holding the fact the media HATED Kobe against him when evaluating him as a player.

Meanwhile, LeFlop Drama Queen James' whole legacy is manufactured through media with constant, blatant lies about his accomplishments/stats. 1. Media never talk about his flops, which he has been doing his entire career. 2. Media and Bronsexuals always disrespect other all time greats' legacies just so they can hype LeChoke up. 3. Media and big NBA youtube channels lie about him "clutch" when he clearly isn't. LeChoke would rather pass the ball in the final moments since he is a horrible finisher at clutch time. You don't believe me, then search up "LeBron James clutch shots made: Regular season". The basketball reference clearly shows that out of 200 sample of "clutch" shots that LeChina took, he only made 15 of them. That's why even in the recent games, you will see him passing the ball or even straight up getting blocked constantly, as in the case of last year's conference finals against Denver. 4. Media constantly makes excuses for him for all his problems, as shown consistently in Skap's videos. It's all his teammates for some reason, when he basically is the GM of the franchise with how much power he has over players' contractual decisions and he's the one who brought them in. 5. Refs are very lenient on him with calling fouls for him and against other players. They also just straight up overlook his travels. This is very clearly shown in the recent games with Pelicans. Angry Old Hoops Fan actually did a breakdown video discussing this. Search up "LeBron "Shines" in Blowout Loss to Pelicans". Overall, LeChoke, LeESPN, and Bronsexuals are all a joke. The only thing they can do is just lie. Not to mention, when discussing legacies and stats, the context only matters when it's favorable to them. So they are also hypocritical in that regard.

Lebron is a much better rebounder, facilitator, and passer compared to Kobe. While Kobe has double Lebron's All-Defensive teams, I'd still take peak Lebron's defense over peak Kobe's defense (2x DPOY runner up to 1x 3rd place finish). Lebron is the more versatile player, can play any position, and plays the game textbook perfect. I really don't even see an argument for Kobe over Lebron since Lebron has put up better numbers than Kobe in every major statistical category (pts/reb/ass/steals/blocks) on MUCH MUCH better efficiency. Thats the literal definition of a "better player".

Then later when he was just starting to get some love Lebron came in and the media wanted to make him the next big thing and needed to remove Kobe from the conversation to make Jordan vs Lebron a thing. So now again he is criminally underrated. I watched his entire career from first game to last and no one I have ever seen has compared to him except Jordan. I have Jordan 1, Kobe 2 though my favorite player is Kobe. Bron, though a great players is not really close to them for me.

In conclusion, while Kobe is a better scorer than Lebron, Lebron still averages more points than him throughout his career in the regular season AND postseason. Kobe also spoke multiple languages and is better educated, was much more humble putting Wilt as his GOAT, adoring MJ and trying to both mimic but also improve his game, learning from the greats and reading their books (like Bill Russel), and always pushing all day every day. Kobe's work ethic and love of basketball and his singular focus on basketball is legendary and will live well beyond his life. The media hated Kobe from the beginning and tried to smear him every chance they could. Kobe deserves his accolades, Shaq and MJ both miss him dearly and praise him and defend him highly, and his stats and records speak for himself. Kobe worked and trained hard, studied the game at an academic and in depth level, constantly watched and studied tape, studied individual players and learned how to guard them the best he possibly could, focused on his weaknesses, perfected his shot constantly, and knew his NBA history far bettet than the clowns in the media and the kids on social media now and respected and learned from the greats. So happy to see you defend and give Kobe his well deserved credit. I wish I gave him more while he was still with us because I was definitely a Kobe hater, but his achievements speak for themselves. Meanwhile, Kobe with his 1 MVP, 5 rings, and only 2 Finals MVP's is enough to be second only to MJ? Why? Because he died? Lebron had to join a super team to get those rings btw. Kobe just joined the lakers when the lakers were decent and his coach at the time didn’t start him. If the coach started him not only Kobe would’ve improved more but would’ve helped Shaq win more than three rings

@@KGTsmvegas you sure didn't mind Shaq leaving ORL for LAL or KD leaving OKC for GSW. Lebron joined MIA because they are better but they were no super teams by any means. If I were to compare early 2010's MIA to a team today, their equivalent would be today would be MIL. The only reason why he left CLE is because CLE was a small franchise and they would never trade in good players to play with Lebron. Steph, Kobe, and MJ were similar in a sense where both their teams were willing to trade in other players to get a win. Lebron didn't have that in CLE. He could've gotten Melo, AI, or Kobe. That's right, Kobe has requested a trade before but the LAL owner did not approve it. Kobe ended up being a life long LAL but he got all the help he needed in LAL. He got Shaq, Odom, and Pau to play with him in LAL while Lebron got nobody in CLE.

KD has made several cowardly decisions in the past & it's fair to criticize him for it BUT when it comes to respect for all the all time greats that came before him he's one of the most informed & enjoyable NBA personalities today. Unlike everyone else he seems to just appreciate good hoops without caring at all about what the media thinks or feeling the need to prop up his era as superior to all the others to boost his own legacy.

Even Lebron being top 5 is debatable. No player that is known for losing should be sniffing the top five in anyone's list. 4-6 in the finals. Has the record for most games lost in the finals in NBA history. While playing most of his career in the weak East and with super team after superteam. Also has been swept in the finals TWICE! And as far as mastering the game of basketball, LeBron has never been in the top 10 of most skilled players in the league in any year that he's been considered the best player in the league. His skill set is limited compared to many other greats. I can go on and on. No player with that many faults should be sniffing the top five. And stats without context are meaningless. Jordan, Kobe, Kareem, Bird, Magic, then the rest.
@skap_attack
@skap_attack 10 ай бұрын
I agree completely. LeBron can be in the second grouping of 5 somewhere between 6-10 along with Wilt. Another statistical entity that was 2-4 in the Finals. I mean, Jerry West isn't even considered top 10. His statistical averages are nearly identical for his career as compared to Lebron. He went to 9 finals in his 14 year career. UNFORTUNATELY, he was 1-8 in the finals and WINNING MATTERS. At least it always did until this loser era we currently reside in.

@@skap_attack Agreed. And there have been other players with crazy stats that have not been considered top five or even top 10. Like Karl Malone. He had been second place in the most points scored in their careers for a very long time behind Kareem. But just because he scored that many points , which again was because of longevity, he was still not considered to be top 10 in most people's eyes. But now LeBron fans want to say LeBron is the goat because he scored a lot of points based on longevity like Kareem and Malone did? Delusional. And again stats are meaningless without context.

Even funnier when they say „he couldn’t do it without Gasol“… I mean you just explained that Gasol was basically a nobody who wouldn’t even dream to be a HoF if he didn’t player with Kobe, but what’s with Kareem? During his absolute prime (age wise), he only got one single championship with one of the most stacked teams ever in 71, not getting another single championship THE WHOLE CENTURY until another top 5 all time player joined him (and a bunch of HoFs along the way as well) yeah but Kobe was carried 😂 it’s really laughable how some criteria only apply to Kobe and Koby only

( To equal lebron kobe would have had to play 109 more games average 9.79 turnovers for all of them. also stockton @ 1504games has 4244 TO's) kobe TO's : "he's a ball hogg and an absolutely selfish player" lebron TO's: "He's the primary/only real ball handler so its only natural" for shots missed(yes kobe's missed alot and it not great) kobe(#1): 14.481k missed in 1346games--> "he's just a high volume high risk shot taker unwilling to let anyone else on the team get sufficient attempts" lebron(#2): 14.179k misses in 1455games --> "he's the only legitimate scoring option/ he has to shoot alot bcz no one else is doing enough/he has no choice" HELP: there are basically 2 main equations applied in terms of both impact/contribution to wins and as player individually. shaq>>>>>>>>>(wade+bosh+ad+kyrie+k-love+dwight+haslem+ray-allen+caruso+rondo) OR (shaq+pau)>>>>>>>>>>>>>(wade+bosh+ad+kyrie+love+dwight+haslem+ray- allen+caruso+rondo) there's also a silent yet now universally agreed upon pre-qualifier in these debates in the media( mainstream &players podcasts) that (wade+bosh+ad+kyrie+love+dwight+haslem+ray-allen+caruso+rondo) were all past their prime(tru fr some), were all carried by lebron(regular &post season), lebron was the main reason they won, they were all lower-IQ players that needed lebrons 4-D chess to become better and win, lebron made them all infinitely better players, they owe credit in their legacies to lebron but not the other way round. point of this post is not to hate on any player, its just to point if ANY NUMBER of players of similar caliber have any SIMILAR NEGATIVE ASPECTS to their game(all players do), then it HAS TO BE that they be considered in the same way for all those being discussed.

My boy Skap back at it again with the facts. The media will never stop with the nonsense. Kobe was a different animal than Bron. His whole clutch sports crew will do everything in their power to continue with the mass manipulation but us REAL hoops fans know the truth. Mike will always be THE undisputed goat it's that simple. But Kobe is a close second or at least top 5 in my book. He was a great basketball ambassador and inspired a whole generation practicing fade aways yelling Kobe. They all wanted to workout with him and did so. The majority of players have him ranked over Bron. Have you ever heard of a player who wants to workout with Bron cuz i haven't. They don't even respect him while Mamba was highly respected by anyone in and outside of basketball. Man's was never running from the grind like others or formed super teams. Both Shaq and Kobe needed each other to win just like MJ and Pip and so on. Fuck ESPN and their clowns they never fckd with Kobe anyways like ranking him low etc. To me they never liked him also the league especially after the Colorado incident.... That's the main reason that he only has 1 MVP. If it wasn't for Colorado he would have had more of em. But idgaf about stats or accolades cuz the eye test tells you everything about Kobe Bean Bryant you need to know. He gave his fkn all to the game and certain people should appreciate it more. Rest easy killa you are deeply deeply missed.

@Shotzzilla kobe has a higher shooting% at longer range 2 pt shots yes. In my opinion, that's irrelevant. A fade away 2 is worth just as many points as a layup is. How you get the points in my opinion doesn't matter. One looks cooler, but it doesn't add any more value than an easier shot does. Overall, lebron was more efficient for 2 point shots and from 3. He also was better at all the other stats listed. The one thing lobe does have over lebron that I'd consider significant is defensive awards.

And vs. Lebron, Jordan has a higher win shares of all time + playoffs, PER all time + playoffs, box + - all time + playoffs, PPG, steals, less turnovers, championships, MVP's, Finals MVP's, scoring titles, 1st team defense, Defensive Player of the Year.... all in way less time. This is with Lebron playing in an over blown stats era where you can't hand check and bigs can't camp in the lane for easy layups.

@syzorst
@syzorst 10 ай бұрын
@alfasiger4178 it's goes by the formula of marginal defense/marginal points per win. One of the main reasons why Kobe's defensive win shares are not so high is because during the later half of his career, his help defense was suspect and he would blow defensive assignments and took far too many risk which costed his team games. Saying Kobe is a better defender than Lebron simply because he has more defensive teams is weak because again, by this logic you would say Kobe is a better defender than Hakeem because he has more than Hakeem.
