Kodachrome Sensor made by Kodak for the Olympus E-300 DSLR Camera for that Film Look Class 172

E-300 captures the golden hour colours superbly, suffuse with red, orange and yellow. Your Staten Island images have a rustic almost rural appeal. Close as l got was a return trip on the ferry! Carmine you are a lucky man with so many appealing landscapes, streetscapes and subjects close to home to photograph. Reacquainting myself with the E-300 earlier today. After its recovery from a recent ‘accident’ which bumped the focusing screen out of the viewfinder. Repair cost more than the purchase. But l was thinking this is a terrific camera, fun to use and capable of some lovely images. Keep on keeping on, your videos are a great watch.

This camera is the love of my life. 😂 The E-300 was my first DSLR and almost 19 years later I am still using it. I remember how it was heckled fir having an out of the norm design, but I loved it. The LCD screen gives sometimes funky results on review, but once you download the photos they are a joy. I purchased a few more copies back when they were cheap as chips before being rediscovered. If you have one with the original firmware they can be updated with the last update via the OM workspace program, but no updates have been available for years. ISO 400 is grainy, but I take sunsets at ISO 100 and they are beautiful. I smile every time I use this camera.

This 4/3 sensor from Kodak is by far a secret weapon for photographers who love color Film shots...glad you stocked up on the E300...awesome😆

Excellent video, sir. I just ordered one of these to add to my collection of Olympus DSLRs and lenses. In my Olympus collection, I've got several E-1s, an E-30, an E-520 and two E-5s but I've never tried this camera before. Yes Sir! Thumbs Up and Subscribed as ordered! I found this video after I spent a day out taking photos with my Olympus E300 and a E20N (4Mp). Nice coverage of a great camera! I bought the E300 back in 2005 when it was released and used it for a few years before moving up to Nikon and then later Fujifilm. I'm glad I kept the camera and lenses; I knew someday I'd dig them out and I was right. You are spot on about the "Kodachrome sensor", I love the colors and saturation. Sometimes have to actually tone them down in post processing. I have actually put up to 8Gb cards into the camera and they worked, but from what I understand the camera doesn't format the entire amount. I normally keep a 4Gb CF card and actually have a bunch of old 128Mb SMs that I keep in there just because. If you use the later Olympus 4/3 lenses before the Micro 4/3, you need to update the firmware on the camera and the lenses through the Olympus website. a favorite lens of mine is the Olympus Zuiko 25mm f/2. You can find these on eBay and they make the E300 a bit more portable. The battery holder grip HLD-3 is another useful item to have. I'm a fan of the CCD's just like you! I recently added the Olympus E20N and an E500 to my bag and can tell you they are really worth it if you can find them. I'll be checking out more of your other videos when I have a chance.
