No problem. I will make a follow-up ~! I went to do some testing with the VND since today was clear skies and sunny. Hopefully, I can give people some straight answers when it comes to bright days on what ND or VND to get. Stay tuned!

Wow! This is as basic as my Kodak Ektralite 10 from back in the day! I love the design but they could have at least added shutter control to give you more flexibility. However, the VND tip is spot on though the handling will not be very easy.

Yup!! I wish there was more control. Just have to be creative when functions gets limited.

I'm curious, since this is a half frame camera, do I need to rotate the forward dial after each shot or after every 2 shots since it's 'half a frame'. Assuming I forget to turn the dial, will the camera not allow me take any photos (eg. the shutter button cannot be pressed or no clicking sound) or will it be a wasted frame. Last thing is will the shutter counter go up to 72 or 36 only for a 36 exposure film.

You may need to roll in your film properly.
@kyrie-8317
@kyrie-8317 Жыл бұрын
Hello, i might be late but usually in film camera you need to atleast take 4 shots after you load the film. You need to do this to advance the films that got exposed earlier when you're loading it to the camera, and yes that means those 4 shots were not captured.

So does it mean, everytime you take a shot with a flash, no matter what, the next shot will be with the flash on? Because whether you turn the knob or not, it would be charged once more
@theCameraVille

correct , its tricky. Just make sure you turn it off knowing you might have 1 more flash to use.

I havent taken a real photo in years, and aside form one photo elective I know nothing, been wanting to get one of these though and pretty excited about it. JUST found out that some standard filters fit on at least the newer model. My question is, would a polarized filter improve image quality the way it does say for my sunglasses on a sunny day? Could it be used as an always on effect? And is there any time/reason/application where a polarized filter would be unwanted? Thanks for doing this.
@theCameraVille
@theCameraVille 3 ай бұрын
I would suggest if its a bright sunny day, polarizer would be great but if its indoor or low light, you might be better off without it on. Just have fun and learn as you go. You will know when you start snapping away. Just make sure you keep note.

Is there a way to put a longer strap to hang around the neck? There’s only one hook. Is only a hand strap possible?
@theCameraVille
@theCameraVille Ай бұрын
amzn.to/45OZ4Fm I would look into a lanyard with a thin threaded hook. I left an example on top and that would probably work perfect. Feel free to look around as well if you are looking for a different kind but make sure its a thin threaded hook at the end and not the metals ones.

Still recommend Darkroom for developing and scanning films ?
@theCameraVille

Nicefilmlab is what Im currently looking at. If you are shooting a ton of film, may be a great option. If its once and a while darkroom is great but I would rescan some of the photos if it looks washed out.

Hi Michael, Just want to sync up. I was thinking it would cost my normal $22.86 to develop the film. Since this is a half frame, it will cost $10.94 extra. The total cost was $33.80 for 1 roll of film at the darkroom. Just want to give you heads up
@michaelc4917
@michaelc4917 2 жыл бұрын
@@theCameraVille Darkroom scans has a lot to be improved. I sent out a roll of 120 and a roll of 135 ektachrome for them to develop and scan. The scans come back pretty bad. But when I get my positives back, it looks fine under the lightbox. Too bad my local lab doesn't do positive, they are so much better than Darkroom.

Just got mine today. Build quality is not good. Buttons are finicky and feel fragile. It does not even has lens cover while my old fujifilm DL-7 has a slide lens cover. However, since it my first half frame camera, I cannot really compare it with other half frame camera.
