Made by Corex, the Kodak i60 takes it s design inspiration from the Instamatic cameras from the seventies. These cameras are intended to be lightweight and take quick, simple, lo-fi photos. Based on legacy reusable and disposable film camera technology, nothing new or groundbreaking exists in these, but they are fun and can do a good job when needed.

Hi David, can you please let me know if the i60 flash button only pushes on one side? I’m not sure if I got a faulty one as mine only pushes on the left side and the right side of the button doesn’t press down at all. Thank you!
@DavidHancock

IIRD, the flash button presses and the flash will pop up. The button that presses down will be the shutter button, but that will only trigger the shutter if the film has advanced through the camera first.

My grandparents had an instamatic 100. They used slide film in it and took it on their travels. They belonged to a camera club and met in their backyard and everyone projected their photos. Can you take slides with this i60? If so what film would you recommend?

You can, as in it will physically work in it, but the exposure range of these is very limited and many, if not most, of the images will be either very over- or very underexposed. I'd stick with C-41 400 ISO for this camera.

Hi, can we rewind films to overwrite the photo we've taken? (Ex: i dont like the photo so i want to retake it)
@DavidHancock
@DavidHancock 7 ай бұрын
Nope. Once the film records light, the film is used. It's worth trying it for fun though to see how a double exposure turns out.

I have this camera. If I'm out somewhere taking pictures, should I advance the film for the next shot even if I'm not going to take the next picture right away?

What’s the main difference between ultra f9 and i60?
@DavidHancock
@DavidHancock Жыл бұрын
I'll have one of these on the F9 shortly, but in general, battery placement, film door release placement, size, be and the i60 has a pop-up flash.

Hi - I foolishly opened the back of my i60 for a second and it rewound the film before I was done with the role. In other videos (with very different and complicated film cameras) it’s suggested to shoot blanks until you get back to your desired number - 16 or 17 in my case. How would I do this on an i60. Please help!!

I also am too scared to reopen the back so I have no real idea what’s going on inside. Ahh!!
@DavidHancock
@DavidHancock Жыл бұрын
Hmm. This camera shouldn't have rewound anything unless you did the rewinding. The only way to rewind the film is to do it yourself with the rewind knob. To check the film, in complete darkness like an interior closet or bathroom, open the back. You can then feel around for the film. If you want, you could rewind it to the leader and having the back open might make it easier to not accidentally rewind the film all the way. Then you could reload it and, still in the dark, advance 17 frames.

Okay I rewound with the back open so the film wouldn’t rewind all the way. About to reload the film back into the camera… how do I advance it 17 frames?
@123georgiabean123
@123georgiabean123 Жыл бұрын
By the way, you were right - it didn’t roll back up on its own, but the numbers on the top shot back to S and 1 in a millisecond

@@123georgiabean123 makes sense. The frame counter will reset when the back opens.

I guess I agree with providing alternatives to disposable cameras to reduce waste, but when the functions and quality of a "reusable" are basically the same as a dispo, I just don't see who is being marketed to here.

I struggle with these, too. So to that end, of the six that I'll be releasing videos for this spring, I only kept the two that I couldn't return (Vibe 501F and a generic one.) My problem with these is that Corex (through Kodak, Agfa, Ilford, etc.) charges about $45-65 per camera. For not a whole lot more a vintage camera that can take FAR better photos, and that will last a lot longer, can be picked up easily.

I have some hipster friends that keep buying the dispo cameras because they like the novelty of a old film point and shoot camera. They aren't really interested in checking light meters or shutter speeds they just like the fact that they get fun physical photos. So I recommend them this camera to save them acouple bucks. I think that is who Kodak had in mind when they made this camera.
