Kodanad Elephant Training Center which is set near the southern banks of the Periyar River.
The wild elephants were captured and domesticated in this facility. After the ban of capturing elephants, it now serves as a premier elephant training centre. You can watch the elephants very closely from about 15 feet away and also watch the elephants bath at 8 am and 3 pm everyday.
It is beautiful and calm place where you can spend half a day with your family. It has a cafeteria, lush gardens and play park for kids.

Kodanad has lost its yesteryear charm after the Elephant training reserve got shifted to Konni in Pathanamthitta District. At Konni Elephant training camp there will be naughty young elephants in captive, obtained from forests nearby.🐘🦣
