@tigerfog_scypher4 жыл бұрын
The voice acting made this scene so powerful. The manga does things differently too: -Saraha stands up to Ueno and tries to protect Shouko -Ueno beats up Shouko a lot more (grabbing her hair and slapping her repeatedly) -Shouko's mom beats up Ueno to the point where Ueno bleeds from her nose -Yuzuru said she didn't intervene because she wasn't sure it was the right thing to do -Most importantly, Shouya's mom wasn't in this scene at all. She encounters Shouko in the hospital later and while Shouko tries to take out her notebook (maybe to write an apology), Shouya's mom walks away from her asking the other friends that to let Shouko know that there's nothing she (the mom) can say, do or react in any way at this point and it'll have to be for after her son wakes up.

What I really love about this scene is the dialogue. I appreciate how they made the bully not just an empty doll of a dumbass but a real person with real feelings. You can both feel and understand her anger even if you don't like her. Imagine your crush almost dying because the girl you envy, yeah even *hate* for the crush's attention tried to kill herself. By any chance you would feel like beating the shit out of that girl for endangering your crush's life. And that's exactly what she did. These two might won't ever understand each other because how different their point of views, personalities and relationships to Shoya are. Don't get me wrong, what Ueno did is far from nice or helpful, but the complexity of every character in this movie alone is almost breathtaking.

This movie broke me, it made me re think my entire life and start making a lot of changes, but I have slipped back into a darker place again, but maybe I should just watch this again

This movie hit home for me. I won't go into specifics. But. It really hit me. Its so beautiful and amazing. I honestly started crying when Nishimiya was apologizing to Shoya. The heartbreak in her voice just gets me. Oh i cry every time.

There is something so strong about this scene that hits me a lot, the way she says sorry... damn

Ueno is so selfish. She wants to play the victim and make the situation about her self + she didn’t mature at all since middle school

The scene where he fell was impactful. The inter monologue of Ishida, the memories passing by his brain, the music; It really grabbed my heart tight, made my eyes teary. But this 'aftermath', this whole sequence, tore my chest. I couldn't stop crying when Nishimiya's mother knelt before her. Nailed, perfectly done, painful, just as it is.

I don't know why i can relate to this anime even though i was very vocal and open person. I guess i hated bullying in general even if i am not the victim. I had multiple stands where i defended people and it felt nice to be dependent on from time to time.

Going by these comments, for being people who hate bullies, a lot of fans who watched this movie seem to be pretty sadistic people eager to hurt others. It's sad.
