I haven't seen one of these in about 40 years. I believe they had or have one at House on the Rock in Spring Green, WI. I would run back and forth between it and the Hupfield Phonoliszt Violina trying to decide which one was cooler... This made my day. Thank you.

Absolutely magnificent.Can you imagine an automated “orchestra “ with computer technology instead of paper rolls .It could be like a juke box and someone could pick the song.I’m sure it could play hundreds of tunes..

It already exist. There are ways to convert old paper roll automatic orchestras to MIDI and thereby computer control.

Trying to figure out if its video editing that is making the accordion look like its playing at the wrong time, or playing the wrong notes, or if the accordion is just there to make a visual statement and the reeds are inside the machine arranged in a more logical 'mechanical' arrangement for automated playing. Sometimes you don't hear the accordion when the buttons are going up and down. Also, you'd need to move it a little more to press that many buttons at once and get that much sound. I have a diatonic accordion and you really have to move it to get a good sound.

Mitch Thompson Well it is a bit of all the things you name! Here and there I did make some editing mistakes. Also the accordion is on such height pressure that you won't see much movement when it plays. It has a separate air supply and does NOT work form the bellows of the accordion it self. Also it plays with the upper notes of the piano. Thus when the air is not on the accordion (when it is not in use) the buttons will still go with it. It just wont play . =-) Sharp eyes! Well done =-)

Ah! That makes sense. And yes, I see @1:50 where the accordion is playing the same notes as the piano.. It plays the flutter notes then the scale climb! Very cool!
