furiousgtz as much as I agree with the first two, the fully electric car has some serious draw backs. Plus, battery technology isn't advancing as fast as everyone thinks it is. Why would Musk have released his patents on his battery technology if they were worth anything to him? Call it me, but you can be a 'great guy' and still get paid for your ideas. I respect Musk, but I wouldn't put him in the same class as Horacio or Christian

Johan Andersson give you one example. While working at Lamborghini he wanted to use CF in cars and guys at Lamborghini thought it was shit. They said Ferrari is not using CF. He went to the bank and took out a loan and bought an autoclave. He created a car call Countach Evoluzione. He left Lambo when he left, he took the autoclave that built the Countach Evoluzione with him, leaving Lamborghini's carbon fiber department completely empty. The rest is history, Pagani is the guy perfecting carbon fiber in super cars. Carbon fiber is nearly ubiquitous in supercars. They now all seem to have at least one carbon piece, just in case. Horacio Pagani saw this revolution coming in the 1980s when he worked at Lamborghini. The Lamborghini bosses didn't see the revolution. So Pagani took his destiny into his own hands and ignored everyone at Lambo.

Twin Turbo they can't even though the One:1, a street legal car weighing 1360 kg, a semi truck compared to F1, has a chance at getting first place with only the 273 mph top speed, faster than F1. Sure, the F1s can pull 4-7 Gs of cornering force while the One pulls 2, but since F1 can't even hit 248 mph (400 km/h), and the One can hit such speed in 20 seconds, F1 still hasn't even hit 1,000 horsepower yet while the One has 1,360. Sure the F1s may do 0-60 in 2 to sub-2 seconds, and the One may be rear wheel drive and 0-60 in 2.8 sec, and it probably may win within at least the last few laps but may hit first within at fastest halfway through, and would be overpowered since 2015 if it entered (it wouldn't even be taken in in the first place, presumably because the FIA knew the car was much too heavy AND too powerful and could reach 273 mph thus considering it too overweight and too overpowered and too fast).

+Danijel Vidos the one:1 holds the 0-186-0mph record. it hits 200 before the Ferrari (the second fastest of the group) hits 186, and that's with a 0.8 second head start to 60. I think we can at least assume he's in the ballpark.

Mr. von Koenigsegg is a true "Engineer's Engineer." Constant innovation has pushed his car company into the top tier of car manufacturers, and ultimately pushes competitors (Ferrari, McLaren, Lamborghini, ect.) to create more innovation.

I doubt that they or anyone for that matter can justify making a car for less than $500k. The market seems to be able to handle $1.5MM+ price tags just fine for now. I am sure that his R&D costs are very high and even at $500k he would have to compete with Aventador and F12. Both of those have R&D departments that are a part of Global Fortune 100 companies and competing with them would be almost impossible. I know - McLaren is doing it! But they have been doing R&D work for other companies for decades and had a racing program to rely on. Until the world HyperCar market turns, I just don't see them selling anything for less than $850-$900k. Just a personal opinion.

He's mentioned recently that he wants to do something like this. Under a different brand name much like the VW/Lambo group. He hasn't said anything about the price of the cars he'd manufacture. But he has mentioned they would be significantly less expensive and more heavily produced. He wants to keep koenigsegg a very rare name though. So that's why he wants a different brand name for it.

Thank you XCAR for more Koenigseggseggsegg content. I love this brand and I think the world is just beyond being haters on this man and his dream. He is perhaps the youngest man to ever break into the auto industry and remain relevant. I am sure his next couple of cars will shake some of the foundations of the industry. He also has tech outside his cars that could change the combustion engine entirely, things he could lease to larger companies. His pneumatic cams are amazing and I cant wait to to real examples of this tech in the wild.

Yes, the Egg is a great car and yes Christian is a great manufacturer but he can't compete with companies like Ferrari or Porsche. His cars are waaaaaay to overhyped. He didnt invent anything astounding. The Bugatti 2xv16 is craftmanship. Making the 1600 kg porsche go in 2,2 from 0-60 it real innovative. Engineering the super fast gearbox of the Aventador was great craftmanship. But printing a Turbocharger or making a door... Thats nothing special in my eyes.

+David Lopez yes... Stupid K.E. fanboy. The Königsegg is fast in straight line (60-240 mph) But dragster and MuscleCars are fast on straight line too. The major discipline for hypercars is 0-60 and time around track. K.E. is bad @ both of this disciplines. Make a car fast isnt difficult. And 1360hp to a v8 isnt dificult too.
