Unfortunately, that vision just killed the line. I had 2 pairs of V2 and had run both to around 500km each and it was one of the best non-plated shoes I’ve ran in, next to my 3 pairs of Superblasts. When I tried V3, I just knew that the Rebel line from then on was just a name and did not live to what it was really intended to be when v1 and v2 were released. Quoting you from your Novablast 4 100-mile review, “Novablast 4 was the good kid but I kept on yearning for the bad kid, which was the Novablast 3”. @@kofuzi Sure. People like to compare current trainers like the Novablast 4 and now this to earlier counterparts, where they were more “fun” because they were more propulsive, yet were unstable even for the most neutral runner and/or had awful durability. It seems like a daily shoe is now “boring” if it doesn’t have a huge risk/reward to running in it, which in my opinion, isn’t what a bread and butter daily trainer is for. I like a daily trainer that makes my feet and legs do the work while protecting them - this makes it so if and when I do put some sort of propulsive shoe on my feet, it will make me run that much better in them because I can put more muscle into them.

And there are so many other reviewer's stating that they find the shoe to be much more of an uptempo shoe than a workhorse and/or easy run shoe. It's the same when I hear people mention that it runs very wide in the midfoot and forefoot areas (which it does) and mention that they still wouldn't go down a size because it fits true to size and would be too short in length but always fail to mention that you can go with the women's shoe instead for men with narrower feet (sadly I don't believe there is an option for women to do something similar or have a narrower option) and they still share the same colour ways. Skip the v4 and just stick with Superblast. SB is leagues better than the Rebel line in terms of versatility.

4:00 I got 8 oz for a men's us sz 8.5. Extremely happy with the weight. This is my fav shoe ever right now.

Thx. This was a really good review. Loving the comparison to similar shoes also.

I like this one but it's too pricey for a daily trainer here in the Philippines almost 166 USD..

I had to buy the V2 and V3 1/2 a size up from my already 1/2 sized up running size. Maybe they've overcorrected this year?

Ah, the New Balance 880 I liked 2 for what it was. I liked that I could use the 3 for more than one type of run. I'm sure the 4 will be fine too. However, as a saga, they confuse me.

just realize that the stack height is the only place the US folks keep using metric instead of imperial😁

Why they still cutting so much outsole on everything, these are not competirion shoes, it will feel softer beginning but then it will feel less protective than with outsole

People at my local running shop love this shoe. May be getting them soon. Awesome review!

V4 runs small. I had to go a full size up

what shoes do you normally run in? I feel like these shoes are just so roomy. I still think it's tts, but if I had to recommend any sort of change, it would be to size down.

Was really wanting to pair these with my 1080v13 for a faster day/workout non plated shoe from NB. They kinda fall into the same daily trainer (albeit in different spectrums) category.

Good review. I definitely plan to try the Rebel v4 as I'm an unabashed NB fanboy, but this shoe seems like such a major departure from my beloved v3 that I've stocked up on multiple pairs of it with the recent sales going on. Never got to try the v2 and I know that many Rebel lovers say that's "The One", but the v3 does a lot of things very well considering its lower stack and minimalism compared to all these super trainers coming out these days. I also love the Takumi Sen 8/9 for the workouts, so I don't expect the Rebel v4 to take on that role. Seems like a jack-of-all-trades shoe but which does certain things better than others. Interested in knowing how the foam holds up after 100 miles. I haven't had any durability issues with the v3 as some have reported and I know there are concerns about how long the v4 will hold its bounce and responsiveness.

11:44 if the SC can’t do long and fast, then it needs to be 180.00-200.00. 14:11 this is one of the biggest updates to a shoes line visually that I have seen in a while, when you held up the previous gen..it looks incredibly dated. Same goes for the SC V3.

SC can do long and fast - marathon and threshold. but if you're going to be doing a lot of vo2max work, you might enjoy having another shoe that is more finely tuned for it.

This or novablast 4?
@kofuzi8 ай бұрын
I prefer novablast 4. it's springier
@jerber1828 ай бұрын
I have gone through 3 pairs of the Novablast 3 and 1 pair of the Rebel v3. Now with the new models I'm not sure which one to pick up. I'm more intrigued by the new Rebel v4, but which one would you recommend?

Bulky, but looks can be deceiving, might be exciting.

I wish you had compared this to Ride 17 (given its updated foam) instead of the Mach X or just as an additional comparison.
