I use both a lot, so just my opinion. Sl20 is a bit more snappy, the boost in the Boston does make it softer but still can pick the pace up. I have the 2 pairs of sl20, 2 Boston 9s and a 1 pair of the adios 5. In reality, I think a Boston 9 is the option for a bit more cushioning and the sl20 if you like more road feel and a snappy bounce, both can eat up miles and be used for easier runs.

@@mitchyruns7818 I'm after a new pair of shoes. Mainly do anything from 5k up to half marathons (no racing as yet, just training and speed work). Not the fastest but looking at getting faster. Have been looking at a slightly lighter pair of trainers as my Ultraboost 19's are too heavy, and narrowed it down to either the Boston 9's or Adios 5's. Which would you recommend?
@mitchyruns7818

@@Hooblue1 hey man, firstly, well done with the running! I’ve literally just come back from 1 mile run in the Boston 9s, for me, Boston’s all the way. The adios are nice for pure speed work, but leave me feeling beaten up. The Boston has enough cushioning for easier days but can also up the pace. I’d defo get the Boston’s and can sleep well knowing it’s the right recommendation! Let me know what you decide 👊🏼

I have 159 miles on my Boston 9s. They feel great on my daily runs on asphalt -- responsive and comfortable with a generous (but not overly large) toe box. I like them slightly better than my Boston 7s. I was able to get 820 miles on the Boston 7s before I was running on foam. It looks like these shoes will wear similarly. I'm not a big fan of white shoes, and I'm happy to have the black shoes with green splash on the heel.

Am on my third Boston 8 pair ( same midsole/outsole ). As a heel striker they're my dream shoe. Firm enough to support my heel landing, very dynamic yet comfortable enough to leave my feet pain free after a 20+ miles run. I don't like high stacked rockered bouncy new gen clown shoes so those ones are just perfection to me.

I have v.9 as well, but I picked up a new (2nd( pair of 8’s before they disappeared completely in my size--original all-Boost. I think the design is beautiful and on me (my feet are medium width but on the narrower side I guess) it’s a perfect racing fit. It doesn’t matter if they’re not super-light, I’m just not aware of the shoe on my foot.

Got to agree, Boston 9 has replaced the freedom iso 2 as my do everything shoe. Ran a half marathon I them no problem, also used for track sessions and wet 5kms. I got some SL20s in summer and returned them, build quality feels noticeably better in the bostons. Got the bright pink on sale for £70, aiming to pick up a second pair on discount once winter is over.

Great shoe. No question it doesn't have the most cushioning but I think it really allows you to run naturally and more nimble. I took this for a 15 mile long run and had no problems. I usually do long runs in cliftons but I actually think the squish and larger shows does more damage to my knees because I run with improper knee flexion since they do get heavier on long runs to keep a natural gait. I know the SL20 is everyone's favorite shoe here but I find the Boston to be much more versatile and I too got this for $60 straight off the adidas website last month so you can't beat that price point.

I am looking for a shoe that "pampers" my feet better than the Reebok Floatride 1 for easy runs 14km and above. I am in two minds between the Adidas B9 and the Saucony Triumph 18. You caught my attention when you mentioned that the B9 is not harsh on an easy day. What are your thoughts?
@23mmroadie49
@23mmroadie49 3 жыл бұрын
@@Andrew-AllGood Hi, I have not run in the Triumph, it does look like a bit more of a plush shoe than the B9. I quite like some ground feel, i think i might be in minority. The shoe I currently love that appears to both pamper, well cushioned and light, and a do it all shoe and my favourite for the year is the New Balance FuelCell Rebel v2. Its about the same price as the B9 and in my view a better shoe. I got the B10 but returned immediately, considerably heavier and now I have my Rebel v2 I don't see the benefit of having the B10 at that weight; it feels that New Balance are moving ahead of some of the other manufactures with their easy/tempo shoes at a good price

Brilliant video once again Kofuzi. The Boston range just continues to innovate and improve on that solid foundation which it already has. I think that you have may have peeked my interest to purchase a pair of 9's next year. I also find that I have more wear on the outsole under the balls of my feet. My wear isn't smoothing but the rubber is experiencing wear in those areas.

I've run Bostons since the 5's. Outside of the heel wears down to the Boost at 150 miles for me. The grid pattern on the 8 appeared to be made of harder rubber than the 6 or 7, but it's no more durable given the design. It's time to try something new. Just ordered two pair of Triumph 17s at half price.

@Martha-fluterunner
@Martha-fluterunner 4 жыл бұрын
I have both and love them equally, but they are different. The 8’s to me have a real race fit that if it works on your foot (as they do on mine but not on those with wider feet) is pretty special. The 9’s have a much lighter, more breathable upper which is great for summer, whereas the 8’s are nice in winter because they are warmer and more water-repellant. The Lightstrike is a little more forgiving for longer runs than the all-Boost. Version 9 doesn’t lose what I love about the 8’s-it still cinches up to a great snug midfoot fit, it still holds my heels very securely with no hot spots, and it’s still a fun, snappy, versatile shoe. They both feel like an extension of my feet and “disappear” in the sense you forget about the shoes. I bought a new pair of 8’s on sale before they completely disappeared in my size just to be sure, but you probably don’t need to worry that they ruined the Boston with version 9. Martha

it's rural Iowa, so I usually run down the center of the dirt roads, but when I do run on a shoulder, I pick the side that works best for my knees.

@@kofuzi a lot of chinese "youtuber" did some reviews about running shoes . like ranking or sth , and they said that boston seriers maybe the BEST shoes of this year, and boston 9 on chinese website are really really cheep now, so, somebody maybe bought like 50 pairs of boston9 , and they try to resale them in a higher price, and you konw, chinese people are "EVERYWHERE" (even I am a chinese), and they even writed some CODE for buying shoes on the website automaticly. SO it is normal that the boston 9 on ADIDAS website disappear immidiataly. (my english is poor i hope u can get my point......)
