Thanks Jeff. Internet speeds are pretty good all over Thailand these days but in hotels etc depends time of day/how many throttling same WiFi hub etc of course. As another commenter suggest below, always handy to have an unlimited data simcard (to tether from phone to laptop) from one of the big carriers AIS/TRUE etc -and ask if they have any deals on (I was lucky to get a 200 Baht/$6 month unlimited 10 Mbps plan). Data deals like this are targeted to local users, so usually on offer at the AIS/TRUE shops in malls, not at the airport.

We stayed at Penny's Bungalows which was like a mini resort & had their own rocky beach & swimming pool. The fantastic breakfasts were included & the rooms were spotless. All for $15. cdn. per night. Might be cheaper for long stay but we stayed for a week.

Loving this series, stayed at KB Resort a few years ago and the elephants are regular visitors to the beach. Lovely to see but like you said not nice to see them being ridden etc. You need to check out the Rasta View Bar on the main road just past Bang Bao (if you haven't already) xxx

Thank you Mila. Sooooo, the Chang's DO roam along the talay at Koh Chang! Still felt fortunate to catch that lil jumbo out on a stroll. I'm not a 'resorty' type of guy but KB Resort checks my boxes as it looks low impact, blends in and has those idyllic beachfront huts (Robinson Crusoe in style, but with all the amenities;). Add in gorgeous Kai Bae beach, perfect. Next time perhaps (just not on a weekend) Cheers, STL

There are some truly beautiful places here on Koh Chang and some incredibly good prices on monthly rentals if you look around! I've spent most of my time relaxing over on the quiet side of the island and the beautiful mountain forests and rustic coastline here has been incredible for just letting any stress melt away.

Thx Karl (as always I might add :) My lil MB Air M1 Chip is an absolute mini beast, I love it! Fits anywhere, super light, slices thru even 4K video editing and it's TWICE as fast as my now big/bulky MB Pro which has 2X more ram. CAVEAT: the M2 Air is set to launch soon... BUT rumours have it the iconic thin wedge shape may be going and a NOTCH added (ughhh!). Personally, as I don't use any where near the excess power of the M1 chip, I won't need an M2 upgrade so staying put. Best keep an eye on Tom's Guide website in advance of the June 6 (maybe) drop. In Thailand you need to know the rate they charge for electric. Often they charge a higher rate than the state. Condos in Bangkok do, but I don't know about these places.

Only half way through the video, but highly recommend The White Elephant restaurant and bar just up the hill from white sand beach. Also, I hade a question. How strict is the mask policy over there right now? I’m itching to get over there but not too excited about wearing a mask when it’s 95° and humid. Hope you enjoy your stay!

In many ways its better to live on the mainland near Muang Trat. There are lots of private tiny beaches (eg bahn chew-an talay) and its a heap cheaper there. You can always pop over to the island if its night life you want.

Thanks Sam. Regarding FX, as much as I'm quietly proud & feel fortunate to be Canadian, there's a finite space to include FX conversions and our Loonie just isn't a 'main' currency of the viewership. In this hemisphere, there's more AUS viewers than Canucks. So, as our Loonie is equally colourful as the Aussie's lobster and pineapple notes (and both countries agree there's a 'u' in colour etc;) AND as we're both like a N/S version of a peso, suggest use the A Dollar quote as a reference. I went to Koh Chang this month. The beach is great and quiet, but I saw lots of elephants were chained in some rusty place and the owner sold some bananas to tourist for 50-100THB, it’s horrible. The elephants looks helpless. If you like this videos plz don’t buy the bananas.

WHITE SAND BEACH is #1 but you mentioned road noise. Can you hear cars etc from the beach ? Im looking for bungalow style accom right on the beach (obviously w seaview), which would you recommend plz ? You suggested STAR BEACH BUNGALOWS. Others? ALso how about WARAPURA resort or that area? Any other tips ? :)

Thanks Brent (and wife;) Dec/Jan 'normally' can be busy in Thailand as it's high and dry season. However, as things are still ramping up, next Dec/Jan should be ideal to visit (besides, lovely Koh Chang seems like it would be pretty chill any time:). Brazil?
