All your videos are awesome. Straight to the point everytime! Thank you so much! Do you have a video on how to correctly connect the amplifier located in the control room and the cabinet located in the recording room? Suitable cables and lengths, connectors, etc. Greetings from Argentina!!

I think we have about 20m of speakercable between the rooms. The thicker the better. I have to look it up. We use Sommer Cables

Sommer Classique speaker cables or Vovox Sonorus speaker cables will keep your signal intact with those cable lengths... any other cheap cables will bring you unwanted noises and a clear frequency loss in the top end and upper harmonics of your signal.

Kohlekeller Studio, no doubt. Although, in a perfect world the KHE would integrate multiple instrument inputs (like the Radial) into the current design 😂 Have a good weekend :)

Hey Kristian! Great video!! I've been looking for a good solution for this (that is affordable) for years! I'm so excited! I've heard that similar amp switchers can alter the sound a little bit. What are your thoughts about this regarding the KHE ACS? Lastly (maybe the wrong forum for this question), I recently bought your High Gain Guitars course...reaaally likin it so thank you for sharing it with us! One thing I'm very currious about though - your sound is very clean, no noise at all which is not my situation (amps => power attenuator => isocab), especially with high gain. What advice can you share about fighting the noise? Thanks for amazing video and for sharing your knowledge Kristian! Keep it up! / Cheers!

Fantastic solution for not losing the inspiration while tracking... there's a similar alternative from Kahayan, the Selector 8×4, same principle with loading and high grade quality construction at similar price point. By the way, which cables do you use Kristian ? what about the cable factor in the sound when using successive serial routings like the setup in this video ?
@KohleAudioKult4 жыл бұрын
I think the KHE is better. Especially the grounding. We use Sommer Cables here. But I’m not a cable nerd.
@PereRevert4 жыл бұрын
@@KohleAudioKult Thanks Kristian... will check the KHE then. I wasn't but I'm becoming a cable nerd after realizing here in the studio that good cables makes a difference actually... got VOVOX Sonorus cables and the difference in sound is significant, mostly in revealing the grit of the amp and all those mid and upper harmonics when the signal path is travelling into several stages of connectivity from guitar > pedal > amp > cabinet... to mics > preamps > converters > DAW.

would work for slaving a power amp with preamps?

Nice gadget! Could this be used with a Torpedo Captor/Waza Tube Amp Expander/OX Box etc into a DAW?

Great unit. Difficult decision. To me it's a lot of money for what it does, unlike De Lisle's alternative were I just don't know how much taxes come on top, shipping to Germany. Next option would be Ampete from Germany. They do even feature the option of running up to 2 Cabinets at once. Kahayan has seemingly indeed a ground issue. And there is another one from Tube Amp Manufactur which is interesting as well. Hard to decide 🤯
@saturdayevan4 жыл бұрын
Kristian did you ever have any of the other brand units like this before the KHE, for instance Ampete and de Lisle made amp switchers as well as Kahayan ... they were avaiable a year or two before KHE i believe, The De Lisle pro seems more affordable than the KHE similar unit with FX switching also , just wondering the differences.
@KohleAudioKult4 жыл бұрын
I haven't used the other ones. The KHE just works though. The Kahayan had a recommendation in the manual to cut the ground on one of the lines. That was too scary for me.

What happens if you select a 4ohm cab with a 8ohm amp active?
@KohleAudioKult4 жыл бұрын
You always play one cab. So if you hook up two cabs with a different impedance, one of them will be connected incorrectly, depending on your amp‘s settings. Basically that means the output transformer will not work correctly. Mostly not a big deal, but not perfect either.
@demondrive1474 жыл бұрын
It's as easy as comparing ampsims in a DAW, using it's routing. Another idiotic idea: as much as some tube amp guys hate plugins and processors, they still make a healthy concurrency for tube amps, thus making them evolve via included features ala midi-switching, internal loadbox with IR's, ampswitching device for studio like this... everyone wins!
