Looks like new after the repairs. I have a 25hp Kohler on a Craftsman leaking oil from the bottom, but haven't figured out where yet.

My schematic doesn't show a gasket for my cv20s. Can I use the gasket or do I need to use rtv?

In most cases you can use a gasket where rtv was used originally. The concern come in crankshaft end play. A gasket can add up to .020 of end play. For a vertical crankshaft engine I do not feel that is a major issue but researching the recommended end play about and measuring before you disassemble would be a good idea. Thanks.

Another FYI when using RTV use a high quality ultra grey or black. A little extra money now will save doing the job again.

Check the quick oil drain. I have found many of them loose on craftsman mowers. I pull it off the engine when I am changing the oil, clean the threads and put back in with thread sealing tape and tighten. Thanks

I checked the oil drain, but the leak seems to be coming from under the main drive pulley. I'm thinking it could be the crankshaft seal leaking.

Kohler engines are not that good. Had one and will never own another again. ( just my personal 2 cents worth)
