Happy I found your video. I didn't take apart my starter motor yet because I was worried about the brush spring design. On Briggs & Stratton, and on others also, the springs for the brushes are very difficult to reinstall. Now that I have seen that Kohler's design allows easier access to the brush springs and it is possible to put them back in without gritting your teeth off I am going to disassemble my Kohler starter motor and clean it up. Thanks for posting this video and letting us all benefit from your knowledge. God Bless.

Your camera work keeps getting better with each new video. The starter cleaned up very well. Was the solenoid the original problem? Hope the engine rebuild goes without too much expense or trouble. Much Success, Good Health and Long Life to You and Yours. Again.. Happy Thanksgiving.

Yes sir, the solenoid connection point was the issue and I thought to open it up and clean it. I am actually done with this project. It is running great. I just have to edit the other videos and post them. It was low cost project. Thank you for the feedback. I appreciate your support. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family

You can find them online. eBay sells them. Google "Kohler flywheel magnets".
