When I set those shower pans I know it says you don't have to use anything underneath of it but I mix up thinset and put it everywhere on the bottom of the pan so that way when it dries it feels solid it makes for a better job peace brother

Yes I been using structolite from HD. The concrete was not level. It worked out for us.

Did you run out of cement leveling the floor? Should have supported the whole pan.

Bevel the outside of the drain pipe to make the drain go over it easier. Quick job with belt sander or similiar.

You can use a dremel with a plastic cutting wheel to cut the pipe from the inside. Also in Georgia, I would NOT have left the 2x4s in there in contact with the ground because you are just asking for a hidden termite infestation.

This is a great video to show you NOT to instal this way. This pan will rock and leak after a few months. Also terrible photography. Most of the time I did not see what he was doing. At one point I could see the back of his head rather than the actual workmanship. I have been installing pans for 30 years, please do not do it the way it is shown here..Cutting the excess ABS pipe with a electric reciprocating saw is called butchery.

lucky you, so close to level! I never get anything that way, everything I touch is minimum 1" or more out of level and plumb both in a short distance. :( figure 2 to 3 day tub/shower replacement, no-no-no, week+ later after furring walls, floors and figuring out how to hide all the "ugly" without totally hacking up the new materials and not tuning into a whole bathroom remodel :)) did I mention remodeling sucks? and partial remodeling suck worst yet...................

I think you suggested a 1/4" off level is ok? So I would assume if doing mine, I find it a 1/8" off level I am ok? My shower base vendor wants us to use Sand-Mix. It's base isn't flat but has these round circles underneath it. Directions say and tech support says not to drill and screw it to studs. the Sand-Mix will hold it in place.

Thank you, not sold here locally I see. Some Q&A on Home Depot's website suggest its purpose is as a lightweight base coat wall plaster. It should not be used as a base under a toilet bowl for example. I do see several individuals like yourself do use it for that purpose anyway. I am just not familiar with it. Thank you again.

I like how your drain pipe comes up straight and rigid from the slab. No P trap to deal with, no relocation required to align the pan-to-drain. No adapter for 1 1/2" to 2" drain in the pan. Is this your "real world"?

Cb. You should try a Oatey no-calk drain adaptor. You don’t have to be so close and it tightens on the pipe once the shower base is set. Also as stated before they make/sell an inside cutter at HD.

Saticify customer? due holes , pipes are not fitted you edited video to skiped where pipes meet togather3rd time. 1st part video pipes didnt fit didnt even lined up to hole. didnt fit again 2nd part video was cutted off where it was going to connect you cut video off and edited does anyone kotice that ? 3rd part video shoot was far away from connection so pipes connection was hard to tell because you put video far a away from pipe to cant see detail and hummar wasn't fitted to hole though.
