Melting the ends of the ropes makes it a lot easier!

I have always found it easier to thread the cord from the inside out rather from the outside. I know it doesn’t matter. ( inside out. Meaning from recoil hole by the spring to the outside cover ). Things get “real fun” when the spring comes loose. Great vid on how to string a recoil I bet it will help somebody out there.

Got that same mower with electric start, don’t know why they bothered since it starts so easily!

I have a Kohler mower identical to that leaks oil from the base of the engine. Frustrating cause it runs really well. Just don’t know if it’s worth tearing down to fix it.

Hey Hank, on the old Briggs and Stratton classic style engines (carb mounted on top of the gas tank) are the diaphragm gaskets universal? My dad's got one that won't run right he's tried cleaning it im convince its this gasket but he can't find the specific gasket for his model u don't know if engine horsepower makes any difference.. It's a 4.75 HP from 2oo6

Those just take a standard gasket. 5083k. Yea they are universal. Some from the early 90s and before were different.

@@hanksgarage_ thanks hank, it ls sputtering and spitting black smoke so I ordered a tune up kit if this doesn't fix it I guess it's just worn out
