Wow! Thanks for sharing. So therefore, I can keep 5 to 6 kois on a minimum 7×4×3 feet pond. 🤩

Clean and simple job especially on wood wow, but it need better filter. I just DIY filter with cheap material and its working great, crystal clear water after few months.

Thank you for posting... I have a pond I built and have to rip it out now. I like the frame you built … I may use the same idea for my rebuild. The big thing I learned was to use pressure treated wood. I didn't use treated lumber on my retaining wall and it disintegrated after about 6 years. If you end up having to redo yours.. I would use treated lumber for the frame and plywood. As far as the number of fish... I think others are prob right.. I think maybe 4-5 Koi would work well in your tank. Overall.. I think you did a real nice job.. but you may need to rebuild your frame in a few years. Thanks again for posting... good job! +1

i have a 4'H x 4'W x 8'L holding tank on my patio, using the same filter as you. i need to get a stronger pump though. Holding tank is around 800 gal and the pump is 1000 gph. i kept going back and forth on making another tank similar to yours buried 2ft below ground... only question is, will my dogs stay out of it. i may end up putting a 2 ft. rot iron fence around it to keep the dogs out. who knows. i have to make a larger tank anyways... or start getting rid of koi. they are running out of room to swim, lol.

Good Job, may I ask where do you live? I live in California and I am afraid wood frame does not last long due to soil moisture.

Well done, but that water looks pretty bad dirty. Do more water changes maybe and get a better/bigger filter. Cheers!

Excellent pond. This just the motivation I need to start mine. What size plywood did you use.
