Great idea, I did mine last year following inspiration from your video. I used a pressurised spin filter and for the return water I clipped on the side a Superfish Waterfall filter, fitted perfectly. Fish very happy plants all growing nicely. Great idea, Thanks for posting.

I've got a 175 gal. stock tank on the patio with 3 comet goldfish and 4 hardy water lilies. The lilies are on their 3rd season and completely fill the tank solid. The goldfish are 6-8 inches, 4 years old. I'm sure you'll enjoy yours as much as I do mine. Nice build!

Thats my plan. I love to see waterlilies and goldfish taking shelter from the sum underneath the leaves. Yours sounds beautiful. Happy fishkeeping to you sir.

Finesse job! Grow Shubunkin goldfish in tubs on a shaded patio in Texas but they don't look nearly as nice as this Bristol Shubunkins are beautiful, elegant and hardy. The wife might appreciate them. Too expensive to grow CA cichlids outside here in West Texas so I content myself with watching your most excellent videos and growing Tanganyikans inside.

Andy, there's no need whatsoever to be apologetic for your work, it's beautiful. And the comment you slid in-between your instructions was kind-of-a-give-away; you don't need to move to Florida or Texas to keep tropical's. I live in the Sonoran desert, I have plenty of room (it's just me, my fish, my dog, and a very accommodating wife). You'll be thinking more along the lines of a chiller than heat ! So come stay here ! 👍😎. But honestly Andy, I think you've got the best 'fish' channel on U-Tube.

You might try one of those 3' deep by 12' around set up pools one summer. Paint the outside of the pool black and cover with clear plastic to trap solar heat and you can vacation Cichlids outdoors in summer. I did that with mine one year or two..I put in some Tinfoil and Silver Dollar fish also..and boy did they they grow,and all had much color. No filter...just a pump and water plants tossed in by bunches ( Anacharis) ..I might try that again one summer.

Hey Andy I’ve recently started watching you channel after years of keeping fish I was considering packing it all in after I lost my arowana and p14 stingray in the same year! You’ve made me appreciate the lager America cichlid with I must admit I’ve always looked over! I now have a breeding pair of Midas with a shed load of baby’s lol! When your cichlid have free swimming fry would you leave some sort of lamp on over nigh or just turn the lights out
@andywoodscichlids29425 жыл бұрын
I turn off the lights every night. If you have any nocturnal Catfish they may get some of the fry, but I don't worry about it. Thanks for taking the time to watch my videos. Happy birthday to you sir.

Hi Andy nice to see you in shorts 🤣. Can I just ask, the full length boards on the sides, how did you fix them to the tub? We couldn't see that, or are they just standing there and being held together by the corners? I was thinking of doing one of these last year using this method 👍
@andywoodscichlids29425 жыл бұрын
Basically it's a rectangule box held together by the corners. The tub sits inside the box.
