Glad I found this video. My mother learned how to make delicious pastries from her mother who worked in a Slovak bakery in Kenmore, Ohio. One of my favorites served at Christmas was kolach with walnut filling. I never got the recipe since most 'Old Country' recipes were from memory and mom has passed, so I will be trying to make kolach from your recipe.

In all of my years of cooking, I've never seen a sail cloth used in the kitchen. Awesome! Nice instruction by the way....good job Nate.

I was actually looking for this recipe but I also found your recipe for dark chocolate brownies. I’m glad I found it again because I like how you do the bread and the fillings.

Nate, Where can I purchase the cloth you are using, what kind is it (cotton etc) if you don’t mind my asking. I searched Amazon but not sure how to search for it. Thanks!!!❤️
@tinsley2073 жыл бұрын
The thing to search for would be the word pastry cloth. This sail cloth was actually purchased from a local boat repair shop. I hope that helps😀

can anyone tell me if the flour was all purpose that is used or self rising?
@svetlanakrizeman71056 жыл бұрын
Chris Smith, this is a sweet yeast dough, so you will use all purpose flour. The yeast will do all the rising your dough will need.😊

Your making Slovak Kolach. There is no such word Slovakian. Slovak pastry, Slovak cities, Slovak mountains. I'm Slovak I should know.

Great video dude, but please keep your hands away from your face. At the very beginning, you scratch your upper lip....that is a "no no" in the sanitary/hygiene professional kitchen world...especially during an instructional video.

+andrewkirlin shut you not picking twit. He's working from hime and eating the stuff for himself not selling it ?
